It’s week one for B1G Ten football. After a long off season that included the B1G season being outright cancelled. It doesn’t quite feel real that we have made it to this moment.
The slate of games has never been bigger, we have never been more excited for a college football weekend than we are right now.
And we are here to break down everything for you.
Discussing Couch Guy Blogs
Two blogs were written on Wednesday by our Couch Guy brethren that we take a moment to discuss and we suggest you give them a read.
First we talk about a blog by John McCormack about whether Alabama should be the favorite for the natty this year. After their impressive victory over Georgia this past weekend, should they be a favorite to win the whole thing? We also break down a possible playoff dilemma between three teams.
Secondly, we discuss Pete Chatterton’s piece claiming that Penn State is the biggest threat to Ohio State in the Big Ten. Are they? What about teams like Wisconsin, Michigan or Minnesota? Without Micah Parsons is the Nittany Lions defense up to par with the Buckeyes?
Broken Locks
Last weekend was a rough weekend for us with our locks. We went a combined 0-4 on the weekend and were never really even close with our picks either.
It was still a wild weekend we saw a hot pile of garbage that is Florida State pull off a huge upset knocking off #5 North Carolina.
Notre Dame struggled with Louisville, Mississippi State keeps looking like they used up every ounce of their football talent for the season to beat LSU week one and Alabama flexed their muscles looking impressive in a win over Georgia.
Week One of B1G Football
We break down and discuss every game in the B1G Ten this week starting with Wisconsin and Illinois on Friday night where one of the guys takes the Badgers as his lock of the week (year).
The boys dissect the Little Brown Jug battle between Michigan and Minnesota which should be a fun matchup.
And of course, Nebraska and Ohio State. While there are no bold upset takes, we break down what we might see between the fighting Scott Frost’s and the potential National Champs.
Other Predictions
We also break down the rest of the college football landscape here in week 8.
A huge battle in the Big 12 between Gilli’s, Oklahoma State Cowboys and Connor’s former Iowa State Cyclones. The balance of the Big 12 hangs in the balance in Stillwater.
Our episode a week ago we claimed we have no clue what’s going on, that we are lost when it comes to picks.
