Yellow Card Podcast Episode 23

Welcome back to another weekend installment of the Yellow Card Podcast! Today was our first recording session since the conclusion of the January transfer window, meaning there was plenty to cover.

To start, Chris, Andrew and Diego looked ahead to the fifth round of the FA Cup. The crew circled the Man United vs West Ham, Everton vs Tottenham and Wolves vs Southampton fixtures as ones to look forward to. Chris predicted that at least one of Tottenham, Man United and Man City will be eliminated in this round, which would leave some openings for teams with ambitions of making a deep run.

Next up, out hosts took a while to reflect on the January transfer window. Chris explained Liverpool’s center back additions, while Andrew gave his thoughts on new Everton forward Josh King. Diego highlighted several Americans, such as Bryan Reynolds and DeAndre Yedlin, who made headlines over the course of the window.

The crew then broke down the topsy-turvy 3-3 draw between Manchester United and Everton. Andrew was thrilled by the fighting spirit that Everton showed to get back into the game on two separate occasions. On the other hand, Diego was frustrated by United’s lackluster defending.

Lastly, the trio touched upon the MLS CBA negotiations.

All three of us agreed that the recent statement was great news. We all hope that the finishing touches can be put on negotiations as soon as possible to ensure that the season can get underway as scheduled.
