Thoughts on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers New Uniforms

Another day without sports *sigh*. This really stinks, but it is 1,000 times more important to stay inside, and keep everyone safe.

Anyway, we have another update on what the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will look like for the (potential) upcoming season. And no, I am not talking about the addition of any player like Tom Brady: I am talking about the changing of their uniforms.

Last week I discussed the the internet’s, as well as my own, opinion on what the Los Angeles Rams did with their logo. This week I am looking at the Buccaneers.

Overall, these are pretty good. The team claims to be paying homage to “the glory years” when they had an unstoppable defense that consisted of Warren Sapp and Derrick Brooks. They did a solid job of that, bringing fans the basic red and pewter color combination they had in the early 2000’s.

Looking at people’s responses, the majority tend to agree with me that these are quality threads. Not to flashy, not too special, but just good looking uniforms. Still, there are a lot people upset with the fact that the Bucs didn’t bring back their classic “creamsicle” get-ups.

I definitely wouldn’t have minded to see those bad boys either, but the saving grace for me is that I won’t have to be looking at those stupid alarm clock numbers anymore. Those drove me absolutely insane. It was to the point that I considered the Buccaneers jerseys as the one of the worst, right alongside the Cleveland Browns. This tweet below even shows how much better these new ones are compared to the trash bags they wore for the past couple years.

Good on the Bucs for making the switch. It is certainly a new era with TB12 coming to town, and they had to make the golden boy look all sparkly and new at 43-years-old. And at the same time, the did a better job than the division rival Atlanta Falcons who released their new gear today. Because even if you don’t like the Bucs new design choice, you have to agree it is better than a uniform that looks straight out of an Adam Sandler comedy.
