The Internet’s Review Of The Rams New Logo

With each new season, there are several changes a NFL team goes through. New players, new coaches, new front office executives, and so on and so forth. But one of the NFL’s teams, the Los Angeles Rams, made a change this offseason that other teams have yet to participate in.

On March 23, the Rams unveiled their brand-new logo for the entire world to see.

I will reserve my judgement until the end of this blog, but for our first reviews let’s see what people (and the internet) had to say:

First, we have Pro Football Hall of Famer and former Rams running back Eric Dickerson. Dickerson spent the first four years with the Rams, electrifying the Los Angeles crowd every time he stepped on the field. The combination of his Jheri curl and goggles- along with his insane running ability – made him easily recognizable. He is one of the faces of the Rams franchise.

So what did he have to say about the change? Well, take a listen:

Eric Dickerson on the Rams’ new logo: “The one that says L.A. — that looks like a Chargers logo… The fans hate it. They don’t like it.”

What about the Ram head logo?: “Someone said it looks like a penis. It did.”

If you can’t see the “penis” Dickerson is talking about, @ibToast made it clear for everyone to see.

But with all that being said (and shown), I really didn’t get the impression that that was the first thing people saw. I really didn’t even see it at first to be honest with you (shoutout @ibToast). What I, and most people upon investigation, saw was the other point Dickerson made: the Rams new logo has an eerie resemblance to the other Los Angeles team’s, the Chargers, emblem.

Can we talk about how the LA Rams new logo looks like it’d be the Chargers’ G-League team?

Overall, the internet’s conclusion is that this is not it: I would have to agree. On a scale of 1 to 5 penises, I’d probably give it a 2. At the end of the day, it really isn’t all that bad, but it looks like they copied the Chargers with the “LA” version of their design.

Also, the Ram logo they instituted in 2000 was one of the cleaner logos in the league in my opinion. Why mess that up? In the audio clip of Dickerson, he talks about how there was no need for the Rams to change their uniforms despite moving to a new stadium. I agree with him. Their jerseys were classic!

Hopefully most people like their uniforms better than their new logos, but based on what the internet has to say, that hope isn’t very high.
