The Patriots Should Make an Attempt at Antonio Brown

So Quags wrote yesterday about Antonio Brown demanding a trade from the Steelers.

Brown took it to social media to say goodbye to his Steeler teammates as he sees his career in Pittsburgh coming to an end.

With Brown now seemingly on the trade market, it would be ludicrous for the Patriots to at least not make an attempt for Brown.

What can the Patriots Offer

The Patriots have a plethora of draft picks, which involves a first rounder, two second rounders, along with a third and a fourth as well. If you want to get deeper into it, the Patriots also have three seventh round picks as well that they can depart with if they so choose. If New England offers some of these picks and also choose to eat up most of, if not all of, Brown’s contract; then the Patriots could be a serious contender for Brown.

Tom Brady Could Use a Big Time Receiver

When was the last time Tom Brady has a legitimate top receiver in the game with him? Randy Moss? (Happy Birthday Randy!) Julian Edelman is very, very good, don’t get me wrong. But Brown could be a huge weapon in the offense alongside Edelman, Chris Hogan, Philip Dorsett, and others. He could be a downfield threat, similar to when Brandin Cooks was with the Patriots in 2017. He also can take pressure off of Edelman or Rob Gronkowski (assuming he doesn’t retire) getting double-teamed.

In Conclusion

Make the call, Bill! You would be foolish to at least not check in and see what the asking price will be. If it’s too much, hang up the phone. If it’s just right, why not make the move? Antonio Brown to New England? It has a certain ring to it.
