Best Fits for Kyler Murray
Now that all-world athlete Kyler Murray has finally decided on playing football, the question (besides how tall he is) is where is the best spot for him to end up.
There are multiple teams with a quarterback need this offseason. The Washington Redskins, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Giants, Miami Dolphins, and Cincinnati Bengals are all franchises that need / could potentially need a change at QB. The Denver Broncos were also in that group, but Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that they have agreed in principle to a deal with the Baltimore Ravens for quarterback Joe Flacco.So where does the electric Murray end up starting his NFL journey?
I don’t think Washington just based on the fact that Murray uses his legs too much. I doubt they want another RGIII scenario. In that same division, it has been reported that the Giants want a signal caller with more prototypical size. There goes two teams.
Now we have the Jags, Bengals, and Dolphins left. Based on new head coach Zac Taylor’s comments in his opening press conference, Cincy looks like they are ready to stick with Dalton for this year. I already wrote about how Jacksonville has a “win now” team that will probably go after someone like Nick Foles in free agency. This leaves the Miami Dolphins.
In a division that has been dominated for over a decade by the New England Patriots, Dolphin fans need something to get excited about. Bringing in the most recent Heisman Trophy winner with new coach Brian Flores would do just that. It may be a big risk taking him in the first round at 13th overall, but what do they have to lose? Tannehill clearly isn’t their guy, they are rebuilding, and Murray could potentially be a franchise altering player. My advice to Miami is to take the shot. This type of athlete / player does not come around very often.
