The Foo Fighters Kick Off 26 Years of Foo From a Packed Madison Square Garden on Sunday Night

The Foo Fighters helped reopen Madison Square Garden on Sunday night when the band played in front of a sellout crowd. Sunday night’s performance was the first one in more than 15 months with no social distancing, masks or capacity rules. Fans attending the show had to show proof of vaccination in order to attend.

The Foo Fighters had Madison Square Garden screaming their heads off as they celebrated 26 years of Foo. The show kicked off with ‘Times Like These’ which was completely fitting considering the current climate the world is in. The sell out crowd began to belt out the words to the chorus., — “It’s times like these you learn to live again… It’s times like these you learn to love again.”

Dave Grohl would step back from the microphone, fight off tears and rock the remainder of the song for the charged up crowd. The video of ‘Times Like These’ sung by Grohl will give you goosebumps as you watch it.

Dave Chappelle

The MSG crowd was treated with a huge surprise when comedian Dave Chappelle came out of the crowd to sing ‘Creep’ by Radiohead. Chappelle tried to push his vocals similar to Radiohead front man Thom Yorke. Unfortunately, Chappelle’s voice didn’t have that range but the MSG crowd didn’t care and loved the performance.

The comedian’s appearance took social media by storm as he sang the song on stage. Back in 2016, Chappelle also sang ‘Creep’ at Erykah Badu’s 45th birthday party. He also performed the song with Ed Sheeran at an afterparty in Washington, D.C.

26 Years of Foo from MSG

I am a diehard Foo Fighters fan and have seen them a bunch of times from Fenway Park when they’ve come to Boston. The atmosphere from Fenway Park is always loud and the crowd is fired up, however, the crowd at MSG set the tone for concerts this year.

The Foo Fighters will be releasing a new album but under the name the Dee Gees and it will be a disco album. The name, the Dee Gees is the initials to front man Dave Grohl. The album which will be named Hail Satin will be released on vinyl for US Record Store Day on July 17.

“God dammit, this feels good,” said the 52-year-old Grohl. “I really missed the attention. That’s what it is.” Seeing all of the videos from last night does feel really good. It also means that concerts are about to hit the summer in full force and we all are ready to sing along to our favorite bands.
