SummerSlam Predictions For Saturday!

It feels like Christmas in the atmosphere for Wrestling fans as this weekend is full of action. One of the highly anticipated Pay-Per-Views in the wrestling world, SummerSlam is taking place this Saturday in Las Vegas. So, as Saturday approaches, it’s time for some Summerslam Predictions and I am here to share mine with you.

SummerSlam Matches

SmackDown Tag-Team Championship: The USOS vs. The Mysterios

The match between the USOS and the Mysterios is a rematch from the Money in the Bank pay-per-view this July.

Unfortunately, with a very thin tag-team division, there really isn’t a lot of other options to keep these two teams busy. However, with Roman Reigns set to fight John Cena which I will get into later, my thoughts are these. The “Family bloodline story line” has been going for a while now. Nevertheless, with the potential of the Universal Championship changing, who is to say that the Samoa Bloodline doesn’t crumble at SummerSlam? In addition, I think this could be one last run for Rey Mysterio and therefore I am picking them as the winners.

United States Championship Match: Sheamus vs. Damian Priest.

Low key, I think this match will be a really good one to watch.

Both of these wrestlers are super physical and have done a great job at pushing their story line. However,  after the Bad Bunny storyline, I feel Priest’s time in the spotlight is almost here. Damian Priest is my winning prediction here.

Singles Match: Drew McIntyre vs. Jinder Mahal

A match between these two has been long time coming especially after Mahal and company interfered at Money-in-the-Bank costing McIntyre his match. While these two in real life are really good friends, their feud on Raw has been a boring product in my opinion.

The good thing for Drew is that Veer and Shansky have been banned from ringside. While I think that Drew has been pushed enough, WWE is now focusing on a storyline for Mahal and therefore, Mahal is slated to win this match.

Singles Match: Alexa Bliss vs. Eva Marie.

These two feuding has actually been somewhat entertaining. My biggest problem with it is that the storyline has really been more on Doudrop and Bliss’ doll, Lilly.

Personally, I don’t expect this match to turn into much in-ring action. However, seeing Eva Marie’s return was pushed so hard, knowing WWE they will have Eva win this.

SmackDown Women’s Championship: Bianca Belair vs. Sasha Banks

What a match! Banks returned to SmackDown to save Belair from a beatdown by Carmella and Zelina Vega. Banks and Belair then teamed up to fight these two, and well the rest leads up to this moment.

The two have already competed against each other at WrestleMania this year. Now that a large crowd will be present, there is a lot that can happened in this match. Certainly, expect a massive beatdown between the two. However, no matter who wins, I think you need to expect “The Man” Becky Lynch to make a come back. I am going with Belair retaining the title. Maybe we will hear another loud hair whip on Sasha’s body!

Singles match: Edge vs. Seth Rollins

Here is a match for the ages. Two wrestlers with very similar styles of wrestling and a lot of grit and heart.

Definitely expect this match to be a physically driven match. Edge’s comeback has been electric and one very-well received by fans. Honestly, this is a dream match for a lot of fans and also for Rollins as he develops his career with WWE. Seeing how Rollins has been blaming Edge for getting a championship opportunity before him, my prediction is Rollins wins this. However, expect this story line to continue!

Raw Women’s Championship Title Match: Nikki A.S.H vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley

Charlotte won a title once again at the Money-In-The-Bank PPV after defeating Rhea Ripley.

While that title run was short-lived after Nikki ASH cashed in her MITB briefcase, just as that title was short lived, the Nikki ASH character seems to be headed that way too. Fans have actually enjoyed the character but it would be so WWE to just give the title back to Flair.

Personally, my prediction is that we finally see a Rhea Ripley championship run. However, with Flair going after tying her dad’s Championship reign, Flair wins this.

WWE Championship Title: Bobby Lashley vs. Goldberg

Fans are reeling at the fact that this match is even a thing. I certainly agree with their anger and it is such a WWE move to make too.

I’m giving the benefit of the doubt here to WWE however, especially after the many releases we’ve seen happen. I feel the Goldberg booking is just a monetary move and not one they truly wanted to make.

Again though, this is WWE however and here is how i see this unfolding. While Bobby has been in the absolute best run of his WWE career, it will come to a halt Saturday with Goldberg Winning. There is a kicker to my take though, I see Goldberg winning, Brock Lesnar returning and finally a storyline to see Lesnar vs. Lashley unfolding. Perhaps, maybe something WWE is saving up for Survivor Series?

WWE Universal Championship Match: John Cena vs. Roman Reigns

Christmas in August! Or should I say, #SummerofCena?

John Cena’s return to WWE has been one of the most received returns in recent WWE history. The guy sells an amazing story line like no other and after the verbal back and forth war between these two, expect for this match to bring the ultimate fire to the ring.

I am expecting a Cena victory here as the expectations of the Rock returning are also high and one that us fans would love to see. I can picture an angry Dwayne Johnson return to manhandle Roman Reigns for really dropping the “head of the table” to Cena.

Let’s also remember the additional reason as to why Cena is back… Have a look for yourselves:
