NFL Week 4 Power Rankings: A New Number One Prevails

Three weeks have come and gone and we are already on Week 4 of the NFL season, seems crazy to think. With Week 4 comes a new set of NFL Power Rankings, and we thought last week was wild, just wait till you see this week.

Here are Week 3’s NFL Power Rankings in case you missed it!

Now time for the newest batch of NFL Power Rankings! Enjoy!

32. New York Jets-0-3 (Last Week- 31)

This is not your ordinary 0-3 for the New York Jets. In past years this team would at least be a competitive 0-3 team and looked like they could do something. Right now though, not even close. The 2021 New York Jets were shut out in the Mile High City on Sunday in an ugly loss to the Broncos.

Cap that with the fact that Rookie QB, Zach Wilson struggled once again, and getting virtually no help from teammates against dominant Broncos Defense. The Jets have once again fallen flat on their faces.

31. Jacksonville Jaguars- 0-3 (Last Week- 32)

From one Rookie QB and an 0-3 team to another. We land at the Jacksonville Jaguars. A team that is on an 18 game losing streak dating back to Week 2 of last season.

It has been far from the season fans expected from the number one overall pick in Trevor Lawrence who has thrown a league-high 7 interceptions along with fellow rookie, Zach Wilson.

This team is where we expected them to be, in the early stages of a rebuild, but YEESH, what a struggle it has been for Trevor Lawrence.

30. New York Giants 0-3 (Last Week- 27)

Another day, another brutal loss for a team at Metlife Stadium. A loss at the hands of the Atlanta Falcons on the day you celebrate your former QB, Eli Manning is brutal. Couple that with an insurmountable amount of injuries suffered on Sunday from Sterling Sheppard to Darius Slayton and Blake Martinez. The New York Giants are in rough shape and it does not seem to be getting better any time soon.

29. Houston Texans 1-2 (Last Week- 30)

Not much to say here, Davis Mills didn’t look horrible Thursday Night against Carolina, but it is just a roster that is so depleted of talent that is it going to be hard to win.

28. Detroit Lions 0-3 (Last Week- 29)

Oh, the poor Lions. Fans felt their souls (if they had one left) leave their bodies as Justin Tucker nailed a 66 yard Field Goal as time expired to shoot down what everyone thought would be the first win of Dan Campbell’s coaching career. Alas, it was not meant to be, and here we are now at 0-3.

If you know a Lions fan, check in on them and make sure they are alright, because, wow. What a brutal way to lose.

27.  Atlanta Falcons 1-2 (Last Week- 28)

Matt Ryan was able to put together a 72-yard game-winning touchdown drive against the New York Giants, other than that it has been a roller coaster for this Falcons offense, and maybe this win can spark them into something big.

26. Indianapolis Colts 0-3 (Last Week- 26)

A season that could have been for the Indianapolis Colts, coming off a year where they made the playoffs with Phillip Rivers, they now sit at 0-3 to start the 2021 season. It has been less than ideal for Carson Wentz and Co.

If they want any chance to salvage their season, it has to be against Jacoby Brissett and the Miami Dolphins

25. Miami Dolphins 1-2 (Last Week – 21)

Speaking of the Miami Dolphins, they drop three spots in this week’s NFL Power Rankings. They fought until the very end against Las Vegas, sending the game into overtime in the final seconds with backup QB, Jacoby Brissett, it was not enough to overcome though as they lose.

Miami has a chance to get back in the dub column when Brissett faces his former team in the Colts.

24. Philadelphia Eagles 1-2(Last Week- 24)

The Eagles were curb-stomped by the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football. It looked like the team had a chance early when they were able to get to Dak for an early defensive touchdown, but the offense was not able to get anything going until it was too late.

A tough week ahead for Philly as they get set to host the Kansas City Chiefs.

23. Chicago Bears 1-2 (Last Week- 23)

HA. Where do we even begin with the Bears? I decided to be nice this week and keep them in the same spot, but I could have dropped them far.

Matt Nagy is feeling the heat from the depths of hell currently. After an abysmal showing that led to 9 sacks for the Cleveland Browns. The Chicago Bears then put up a lackadaisical offensive performance in a 26-6 beat down by the Browns.

To make matters worse, Matt Nagy has said multiple times that all three QB’s are up for discussion to start next Sunday.

Why… just… why…

22. Pittsburgh Steelers 1-2 (Last Week – 13)

On the topic of hot messes. I present, the Pittsburgh Steelers. With TJ Watt sidelined with an injury, the defense looked pedestrian at best against a bad Bengals O-Line, who did not record a sack.

That, added with an offense that is just absolutely stuck in neutral behind an old and antiquated Ben Rothlisberger.

The Steelers have a massive problem, and I don’t know if it can be fixed or not right now.

21. Cincinnati Bengals 2-1 (Last Week – 22)

As for the team that beat that Steelers team. The O-Line put on a clinic, not allowing a sack to second-year QB, Joe Burrow. This is the same O-Line that coming in had allowed the most sacks. Huge credit to Burrow and the Bengals for showing what they are made of against a decent Pittsburgh D.

P.S. Ja’Marr Chase is GOOD GOOD.

20. Minnesota Vikings 1-2 (Last Week- 25)

The Vikings played their best game of the season against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. It appears that the offense has found its groove and will look to keep it going on Sunday when they face the Cleveland Browns.

19. Washington Football Team 1-2 (Last Week – 15)

Rough outing for the Football Team against the Buffalo Bills allowing 43 points. A defense that has not met expectations this season, is still looking to find its footing. With a long season ahead, there is still time to fix it, but seeing what should have been the strength of the team become one of its weaknesses. NOT GREAT AT ALL.

18. New England Patriots 1-2 (Last Week- 11)

It was a brutal Week 3 loss for New England. For that, they are dropping 7 spots in this week’s NFL Power Rankings.

The offense was stuck in neutral most of the game and rookie QB, Mac Jones played his worst game to date. Coupled with horrible O-Line play and suspect play calling on offense, the Patriots did not seem ready to face a New Orleans Saints team that they could not overlook.

It doesn’t get any easier as the moment has come, Tom Brady and the Buccaneers come to town for a Sunday Night Showdown.

17. Seattle Seahawks 1-2 (Last Week – 6)

We have arrived at the biggest DROP of the week, the Seattle Seahawks drop 11 spots in this week’s NFL Power Rankings.

What a mess the Seahawk’s defense has been. Almost non-existent. So non-existent that the Minnesota Vikings had an absolute field day with them in a 30-17 loss.

Seattle CB, DJ Reader said it best. “We need to get out sh^t together.” If they do not. Seattle is in a load of trouble.

16. Tennessee Titans 2-1 (Last Week – 17)

Tennessee beat a lousy Colts team. Lost one of their best WR, in AJ Brown to a hamstring injury. Derrick Henry carried the team last week and did again this week. They play a lousy Jets team this week, so the passing game should get back on track, if not, then YIKES…

15. Denver Broncos 3-0 (Last Week – 16)

Are the teams that the Broncos absolutely horrendous? Yes, but they have proved they can play well against the teams that do not, on top of their offense have finally molded into the offense they want.

They have a tough test next week against a Ravens team at home

14. Dallas Cowboys 2-1 (Last Week – 19)

Dallas pummeled the Eagles on Monday Night. The offense has proved they are legit and can compete in the NFC this year, regardless of how horrible the NFC East is.

Is Dem Boyz Back? Only time will tell.

13. New Orleans Saints 2-1 (Last Week- 14)

The NOLA defense proved it can win games as the Saints took down the New England Patriots in Foxboro. Even without stellar QB play, the NOLA defense proved it can be a force to be reckoned with as they picked off Mac Jones three times.

The defense will now look to feast on a struggling Giants team this coming Sunday.

12. Carolina Panthers 3-0 (Last Week – 20)

Carolina continued to impress in Week 3 as they took out the Houston Texans. Although it wasn’t without an injury to star running back, Christian McCaffrey who is now sidelined for at least 3 weeks.

They get a tough test on Sunday when they get to face the Dallas Cowboys

11. San Francisco 49ers 2-1 (Last Week – 9)

Three QB’s in the league I see as 30 seconds being to much time to leave. Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers. The 49ers witnessed that happen with Aaron Rodgers on Sunday. After what we thought was the game winning touchdown by Jimmy G and the 49ers offense, ended up not being that.

A brutal loss only drops them a few spots. It sucks, but a nice reality check for San Fran.

10. Los Angeles Chargers 2-1 (Last Week – 12)

Justin Herbert is the real deal, and a legit threat to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West. They proved that Sunday afternoon by beating the aforementioned Kansas City Chiefs. First year head coach Brandon Staley outplayed Reid. More ballsy than Reid, as they went for it on multiple fourth downs instead of kicking a Field Goal.

They get another tough matchup Monday Night against the Las Vegas Raiders.

9. Green Bay Packers 2-1 (Last Week – 18)

Aaron Rodgers proved the haters wrong once again. As he put together a game-winning drive with 30 seconds left in the game to set up the Game-Winning Field Goal against the 49ers.

The offense has vastly turned their season around, and their defense has looked better. Their defense can have a monster game this week against a struggling and faltering Steelers Offense.

8. Baltimore Ravens 2-1 (Last Week -8)

Justin Tucker is an absolute MACHINE. Cause why not break the hearts of Detroit fans with a bomb of a 66 yard Field Goal. He saved the day for an offense that did not look good. Although, Lamar Jackson once again proved he has balls of steel as he converted a 4th an 19 to set up that Game-Winning Field Goal.

7. Cleveland Browns 2-1 (Last Week – 7)

The Browns Defense put on a clinic against Justin Fields and the Bears. Myles Garrett recorded 4.5 sacks in a monster game. The Browns are in a fantastic place right now as whole. Look for a run out of these guys, and it could be scary.

 6. Las Vegas Raiders 3-0 (Last Week – 10)

Las Vegas is RED HOT. A team no one saw being 3-0 through the first 3 weeks. The Raiders are impressing in all facets of the game right now. Derek Carr was clutch again late in the game. Meanwhile, Daniel Carlson the kicker is nailing FG’s left and right.

This is a team you do not want to face right now, and Monday’s matchup with the Chargers is gonna be a fun one.

5. Kansas City Chiefs 1-2 (Last Week – 3)

Chiefs Defense has looked horrendous the last two weeks, getting torn up by both the Ravens and the Chargers. Offensively they are set, minus the turnovers. Pat looked to be running all over the place trying to find an open receiver, but each time he as picked. Two straight losses in September for the first time in the superstar QB’s career.

Kansas City needs to turn the page though, facing the Eagles in Philly for Week 4. They want to be careful though, because with three other teams in that division with winning records, Kansas City cannot afford to falter.

4. Arizona Cardinals 3-0 (Last Week – 5)

Despite deciding to try a 68 yard field goal with Matt Prater that was then returned 109 yards for a house call, the Cardinals dominated the Jaguars 31-19. Kyler Murray once again looked like a stud. The Cardinals as a whole looks absolutely lethal, and a threat to the NFC as a whole.

3. Buffalo Bills 2-1 (Last Week – 4)

Buffalo demolished and embarrassed Washington on Sunday. After losing (somehow) to the Steelers in Week 1, the Bills are firing on all cylinders especially on offense.

The Bills are in one of the best positions in the NFL, and a weak AFC East, if they get really rolling they will have the division wrapped up sooner rather than later.

2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2-1 (Last Week – 1)

The major point I need to nail down here is the defense. Defensively with injuries and play this Tampa defense is nowhere near where they were at last year when they won the Super Bowl. Now, should we smash the panic button yet? not quite, but they are going to need to play a lot better Sunday Night regardless if it is a struggling Patriots offense or not.

So defensively is the reason why Tampa fell one spot in this weeks NFL Power Rankings.

1. Los Angeles Rams 3-0 (Last Week – 2)

Wow, what a start for the LA Rams and new QB, Matthew Stafford.  Stafford shredded a susceptible Bucs defense. The Rams Defense shut down Tampa’s run game, and let Tom Brady sling for over 400 yards in a losing effort for the Bucs.

This Rams team is so dangerous and will be a hard team to beat. This is not a fluke team who is getting lucky with a decent QB, this team is a legit Super Bowl contender and they showed the NFL why against Tampa Bay in Week 3.

Put a Wrap on Week 4 of NFL Power Rankings

Another wild week is in the books and we witnessed a lot of movement in this weeks NFL Power Rankings. Will it be the same next week?

Stay tuned Wednesdays each week as I will give my full NFL Power Rankings as the season progresses!
