James White likely out for the 2021 season with a hip injury
It’s been a tough start to the season for the New England Patriots. They currently stand at 1-2 with Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coming to town this Sunday night. Now? They just lost one of their captains. Patriots running back James White is likely to be out for the rest of the 2021 regular season with a hip injury. White injured his hip in a 28-13 week three loss to the New Orleans Saints. So what does this mean for the Patriots moving forward?
A James White Injury Means Losing a Captain
James White having an injury means you are losing one of your captains on the field. White provided a stability to that offense that has so many moving parts. Now? You don’t have that anymore this season. Especially for someone like Mac Jones who continues to try to prove he can play at a high level in the NFL. James White is beloved by all of his teammates and it was evident when they all came over to him to show him support, before being carted off the field.
Losing a Valuable Fantasy Asset
We were talking before the year about how big of a fantasy asset James White could be in your respective leagues. James White provides fantasy value for you in a flex position. He is an avid pass catcher and can give you an occasional good game on the ground with the right scenario. But now? Fantasy football owners are going to have to say goodbye to White for this year, myself included!
In Conclusion
This is a huge blow to the whole Patriots team. Plus, White was back here on a one year deal. Did we see the last of James White in New England? I don’t know. If it was, what a career the running back from Wisconsin had!
