NFL Week 10 Power Rankings: Wild Week Shakes Things Up

Well, I thought Week 8 was a mess, little did I know, Week 9 was going to be even more of a hot mess. It was upset galore week in the NFL where fans saw upsets left and right. All I could think is how this will shake up the NFL Power Rankings.

Well, we are about to find out.

Read on to find out!

Now, before we dive into Week 10 of the NFL Power Rankings make sure you check out last week!!

With that now out of the way, let’s see this week’s NFL Power Rankings!!

32. Houston Texans 1-8 (Last Week- 32)

The return of Tyrod Taylor was less than triumphant. As the veteran signal-caller threw 3 interceptions in a loss to the Miami Dolphins, who also sacked Tyrod a total of five times. The question is, what happens next?

With a BYE week in the rundown for next week, Houston needs to decide whether they will stick with Tyrod, or keep with Davis Mills.

31. Miami Dolphins 2-7 (Last Week – 31)

It was not a pretty win, but it was a win. The Miami Dolphins took out the Houston Texans to finally end their losing streak.

It was Jacoby Brissett that held down the fort as Tua was an emergency backup due to an injured finger. All in all, it was a sigh of relief for the Fins who can finally breathe after losing 7 straight games.

Quick turnaround though, as they will get set to face the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football

30. Detroit Lions 0-8 (Last Week- 30)

-BYE WEEK- UP NEXT: @ PITTSBURGH STEELERS-

29. New York Jets-2-6 (Last Week- 26)

The sadness that is the New York Jets in the NFL Power Rankings. Mike White looked good in his short Thursday Night stint before he left the game with an injury.

Defensively, it was ugly. Jonathan Taylor ran all over the Jets, and Colt’s offense had its way with this defense.

They will look to bounce back at home against Buffalo in Week 10.

28. Chicago Bears 3-6 (Last Week- 28)

Tough loss for the Bears, but not like they didn’t put up a fight. This is why they will stay put in this week’s NFL Power Rankings.

Still, some work to do, but overall other than some penalty issues, the Bears looked fine.

They head into their BYE week now, time to adjust some small things.

27. Philadelphia Eagles 3-6 (Last Week- 27)

The rookie head coach fell to 0-4 at Lincoln Financial Field. Sirianni cannot catch a break right now and fans are letting him hear it.

The Chargers were just able to capitalize in the end. Overall though, we saw big improvements offensively for this young Eagles team.

They now head West, where they will meet up with the Denver Broncos in Week 10.

26. Jacksonville Jaguars- 2-6 (Last Week- 29)

Two wins for the Jaguars!? IN THIS ECONOMY!?

A gutsy, gutsy win for the young Jags team who stymied Josh Allen and the Bills. Their secret weapon? Josh Allen.

The defensive counterpart to QB, Josh Allen was able to sack, intercept, and strip-sack Josh Allen in an ugly 9-6 win on Sunday.

This is a prime example of a confidence boost going forward, as they are set to face division rival, Colts on Sunday.

25. Washington Football Team 2-6 (Last Week – 23)

-BYE WEEK- UP NEXT: VS. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS

24. New York Giants 3-6 (Last Week- 25)

The Giants defense put a damper on the Las Vegas Raiders and brutalized QB, Derek Carr which included a go-ahead Pick-6.

The Giants are heading in the right direction, their defense is starting to come together, and offensively they haven’t been horrible. A good win heading into the BYE week for the G-Men.

23. Minnesota Vikings 3-5 (Last Week- 21)

Oh lord. The Minnesota Vikings. They had it in the bag, but in the end, lost in overtime to the Baltimore Ravens.

This team can be so good, but the one flaw, which is a death blow, is closing out games. Once again they could not do that in Week 9, which now lands them at 3-5 on the season.

They will look to bounce back in Week 10 against the LA Chargers.

22. San Francisco 49ers 3-5 (Last Week – 16)

When I first started the NFL Power Rankings, I had so much hope for this 49ers team. That hope seems to be dwindling away as they lose again. This time to Colt McCoy and the Cardinals. Yes, they lost to a backup. It was not pretty either.

San Fran has a tough reality to face, especially going into a tough Monday Night Football matchup against the LA Rams. Who will be the QB?

21. Atlanta Falcons 4-4 (Last Week- 22)

The offense is starting to click even without Calvin Ridley. Matt Ryan has looked like the old Matt Ryan and found a way to take down the Saints on Sunday. Cordarelle Patterson has impressed and remolded himself.

They face the Cowboys on Sunday, which could be interesting

20. Indianapolis Colts 4-5 (Last Week- 24)

Jonathan Taylor had his way with the Jets last Thursday night and is making a statement for MVP. The Colts are still very much alive as they get set to host the Jacksonville Jaguars.

19. Pittsburgh Steelers 5-3 (Last Week – 20)

It was not pretty by any means for the Steelers, in fact, I’m still not convinced they are legit. With that being said though, they got a big win over the Bears on Monday Night to keep their playoffs hopes floating.

Defensively they are a beast, offensively, they still got some work to do heading into a Week 10 matchup with the Lions.

18. Seattle Seahawks 3-5 (Last Week – 18)

-BYE WEEK- UP NEXT: @ GREEN BAY PACKERS–

…Russell Wilsons Return…

17. Carolina Panthers 4-5 (Last Week – 15)

It has been a downhill tumble for the Panthers in recent weeks, Sam Darnold did not help that, and nor did the return of Christian McCaffrey.

They have a tough matchup with the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

16. Denver Broncos 5-4 (Last Week – 19)

Denver’s defense looked really really good, even after trading its best Pass Rusher in Von Miller, the unit stymied the potent Cowboys offense en route to a win.

Offensively it was Teddy Bridgewater’s best game of the year, cap that with the emergence of Jamaal Williams, this team is quickly on the move in the NFL Power Rankings.

They will host the Eagles on Sunday Afternoon.

15. New England Patriots 5-4 (Last Week- 17)

New England got their fourth straight win in Week 9

The Patriots are rolling as of late, and the team may have finally found their identity in the run game. As of right now, they sit firmly in the 7th seed for a playoff spot, they will look to keep that up in Week 10 with a tough test in the Cleveland Browns.

14. Cleveland Browns 5-4 (Last Week – 14)

Cleveland showed up and showed out against the Bengals on Sunday, and Baker Mayfield showed his haters that he has still got it. Without Odell, Baker looks rejuvenated.

They will face the Patriots on Sunday Afternoon.

13. Kansas City Chiefs 5-4 (Last Week – 13)

Once again, it was not a pretty win for the Kansas City Chiefs, but a win is a win and it still counts.

The defense has looked much better in the past couple of weeks, but the offense is still not up to par where it needs to be, and they will look to do that on Sunday Night Football against the Raiders.

12. New Orleans Saints 5-3 (Last Week- 11)

The Saints were close to staging a comeback but it was not enough in the end as they dropped one to the Atlanta Falcons.

They will face the Titans on Sunday Afternoon.

11. Cincinnati Bengals 5-4 (Last Week – 9)

The BYE week could not come soon enough for the Bengals as they have lost their last two games.

It has been struggled city all around for the young Bengals, and hopefully, some rest during the BYE week will be just what the doctor ordered.

10. Las Vegas Raiders 5-3 (Last Week – 7)

The Raiders took a brutal loss to the Giants in Week 9. Derek Carr looked like a shell of himself, throwing yet another Pick 6 while also losing a fumble.

The loss caps off a horrendous week for the Raiders organization after having to release both Henry Ruggs and Damon Arnette.

They will look to bounce back on Sunday night against the Chiefs.

9. Los Angeles Chargers 5-3 (Last Week – 12)

After a bumpy couple of weeks for the second-year QB, Justin Herbert, the young QB finally got back on track putting up a big performance against the Eagles.

They will look to keep it going when they face a struggling Vikings team on Sunday.

8. Los Angeles Rams 7-2 (Last Week – 4)

The Rams second-guessed themselves on Sunday Night and by doing so got freight trained by a Derrick Henry-less Tennessee Titans.

Matt Stafford reverted back to his old self as the Titans defense got to the veteran QB.

They look to bounce back on Monday Night when they face San Francisco.

7. Buffalo Bills 5-3 (Last Week – 3)

Oof… Talk about letting your guard down. The Buffalo Bills took a brutal 9-6 loss at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars (hence the drop in the NFL Power Rankings).

Things got ugly quick, as QB, Josh Allen turned the ball over three times, while his counterpart on the Jaguars had a field day with the O-Line and the young QB.

They will look to turn it around when they face the Jets on Sunday Afternoon.

 6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 6-2 (Last Week – 6)

-BYE WEEK- UP NEXT: @ WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM–

5. Tennessee Titans 7-2 (Last Week – 10)

No one knew what Tennesse would look like without their Bell-Cow in Derrick Henry. The team brought in long-time veteran Adrian Peterson to fill his role, and he did what he had to do.

That all led to a big Sunday Night Football win over the Rams in Los Angeles. The team is red hot right now heading into a Week 10 matchup with the New Orleans Saints.

4. Baltimore Ravens 6-2 (Last Week -8)

The Ravens once again made another comeback thanks to QB, Lamar Jackson. The Ravens are on the upswing and look to be getting better by the week.

They will look to keep it rolling when they face the Miami Dolphins on Thursday Night.

3. Dallas Cowboys 6-2 (Last Week – 2)

It was a rough game for the Cowboys as they got shelled by the Denver Broncos. It is games like this that will humble a team and show them that they are human.

This team is still far and away one of the best in the NFC, just need to get off the loss and bounce back next week when they face the Atlanta Falcons.

2. Green Bay Packers 7-2 (Last Week – 1)

I will not say much on this one, just a tough loss, a team missing their starting QB couldn’t get anything going.

They should get Rodgers back on Sunday though when they face the Seattle Seahawks.

1.  Arizona Cardinals 8-1 (Last Week – 5)

Well, well, well… Look who is back in the driver’s seat. The Cardinals got a dominating win on Sunday with their backup QB, Colt McCoy. Let alone RB, James Conner decided to go into ballistic mode and ball out. This team is the top team in the NFL right now and there really is no close second at this moment.

They will host the Panthers on Sunday.

Wrapping up the Week 9 NFL Power Rankings

What a cluster the NFL Power Rankings were this week, one week after saying that not much would change, well, I was wrong.

We will see what next week will bring, but I cannot imagine it can get any wilder than Week 9 did.

Only one way to find out though! Check back next week to find out!
