Into the Triangle Episode 52

Yet again, Jared, Al and Zach had another great episode but this time they had special guest on the show. The boys had the honor to have NESN’s own Lauren Campbell on for the episode. Not only does she cover the Red Sox for NESN, but she also is the co-host on the Locked On Red Sox podcast. Let’s get into what was discussed on the episode, shall we? We got started with a couple of pitchers on the Red Sox pitching staff. Let’s start with Chris Sale. There has been some discussion how much the Red Sox should use him as a starter or in the bullpen, Lauren gave her thoughts on that as well with Tanner Houck. The trade deadline is right around the corner and the first base position has been a topic of debate for awhile now. Lauren discussed a possible trade Boston can make to improve the position.

Lastly, the MLB Draft has come and gone. We all thought Boston was going to go with a pitcher but with Jack Leiter going to the Texas Rangers, Marcelo Mayer who was named the best prospect in the draft was still on the board. He was drafted by the Red Sox, considered to be a steal. The problem is he’s a shortstop and they have their shortstop in Xander Bogaerts. We asked Lauren about some possible solutions regarding Bogaerts and Mayer.
