Fantasy Football Preview: Minnesota Vikings vs Baltimore Ravens

It’s a battle of the purple teams in week nine of the NFL season! The Minnesota Vikings are on the road this weekend as they take on the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore is coming off of a bye whereas the Vikings are coming off of a last second loss to the Dallas Cowboys. With that being said, who will stand out this week from either team? Here is the fantasy football preview: Minnesota Vikings vs Baltimore Ravens.

Must play:

Dalvin Cook

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook is going with No. 33, not No. 4

Entering the season Dalvin Cook was a top choice amongst all running backs in fantasy football. He’s only found the end zone twice this season. But, this will be the week that Cook makes his fantasy owners happy. The last time the Ravens defense took the field they gave up two touchdowns to running backs. Now, here comes Dalvin Cook who is looking for the end zone. Cook has the potential to have his best game of the season.

Prediction: 25 rushes, 100 rushing yards, 2 touchdowns

Hollywood Brown

This shouldn’t be a surprise. Hollywood Brown is one of the two top targets for Lamar Jackson. There’s only two games this season that Brown has not scored a touchdown. So, Brown can be trusted for at least one score. On top of that, he’ll be good for at least five receptions. That’s a good amount of points.

Prediction: 6 catches, 90 receiving yards, 1 touchdown

Also start:

Adam Thielen

This season Adam Thielen has been a security blanket for quarterback Kirk Cousins. Thielen has taken full advantage of that. On the season he has 43 receptions, 471 receiving yards and six touchdowns. With the defensive focus mainly being on Justin Jefferson, Thielen will find areas to be open down field.

Prediction: 7 catches, 110 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns

Lamar Jackson

The elite running quarterback should return to all starting lineups this week. The Vikings defense just lost Danielle Hunter so that means there will be one less defensive lineman will be coming after Jackson. Plus, he has on field chemistry with Mark Andrews and Hollywood Brown. Jackson should have a field day with this Vikings defense.

Prediction: 30-42, 350 passing yards, 3 touchdowns

Toss Up:

All Ravens running backs

Ravens: Ty'Son Williams needs to be a focal point of the offense

Any of the Ravens running backs are a toss up this week. With Lamar Jackson being an elite runner, he will take away rushing attempts. Because of that, all the running backs on Baltimore lose fantasy value. If fantasy owners have running backs on the bye or if Derrick Henry was their running back, then yes pick up any of the running backs.

Avoid:

The Vikings have a void to fill on defense with the loss of Danielle Hunter. It doesn’t help that the first game since losing Hunter is against one of the best runners in the league, and overall the third best offense in the NFL. Fantasy owners would be more than wise to keep the Minnesota defense off of the starting lineup.
