The Rafters Pod Ep. 78: Who’s To Blame?
The Rafters Podcast is back for another week of Boston Celtics Basketball. The team has been on a ride this season with a lot of disappointment, but who’s to blame for that?
Justin comes to the table with the notion this problem can be fixed in house. Ime Udoka has made some questionable decisions in his first appearances donning green. Failure to get the most out of his stars coupled with a under-utilized bench has pushed the Celtics to sub .500 start in the early go. Aaron Nesmith and Payton Pritchard are two guys who blew up in the preseason but don’t get minutes. With two OT games and many close battles the Celtics starters are tired and need a bench to come in and produce while they rest.
Liam goes about things calling out the players. He believes Tatum and Brown struggle to work together. Neither have been as consistent as fans would hope but Tatum’s “off nights” are starting to build up. The once savior of the franchise is shooting 2-15 from three in games that could be won. With a lack of a real floor general no one guides these young stars around the court. They don’t seem to be interested in helping each other make plays so someone needs to do it for them. Liam brings up some possible moves the Celtics could make to bring in that guy to run the floor and get the most out of the personnel. He also mentions what coaches and players alike could do to give this team a fighting shot in the East.
