Boston Red Sox turn to Chris Sale to stop the losing skid
The Red Sox are ten full games behind the Rays for first place in the AL East. The team will now turn to Chris Sale for the biggest Sale Day of the season.
Too be fair, the Red Sox have very little chance of winning the division. However after Tuesday nights loss the Red Sox are only one game up on the Athletics for the final Wild Card spot.
Right now, Boston needs to focus on getting through their latest challenge this season. COVID-19 is running rampant through the clubhouse with Xander Bogaerts being the latest Sox player to test positive.
Bogaerts was pulled from the second inning after knocking in an RBI. Manager Alex Cora would waive the All-Star shortstop into the dugout.

The Red Sox are now clinging to the final playoff spot with a roster depleted. A quarter of the big league club is made up of players who should be playing for Triple-A Worcester.
With all these challenges impacting the roster, the club will turn to Sale. The left-hander is 3-0 since returning from the injured list. Now the ace must pitch like an ace against one of the leagues best teams.
Conclusion
If the Red Sox drop a third straight game against the Rays, the season isn’t over. The club can still land in the postseason.
The team is undermanned, it feels bleak for a team that was one of baseballs best during the first half of the season. With 28 games remaining, the it’s starting to feel like the Sox have hit rock bottom.
If Sale can’t be the stopper this team needs mentally on the mound, with all the COVID issues and the teams play, October baseball night not be a reality.
