Will Joey Chestnut Break The Hot Dog Record Today?

Ah yes, the Fourth of July.  The day we celebrate Americas Independence from Britain and the day we watch a 36 year old man from Kentucky stuff his face with 12,000 calories worth of processed meat.  It’s a glorious and disgusting day but it’s a tradition.  At 12 noon today, Joey Chestnut is going to win his 13th Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest Championship since 2007.  His only loss coming in 2015 to Matt Stonie.

Look I’ll be honest, I can’t watch this shit.  It makes me beyond sick and one time I tried to watch it while eating and let’s say I had a pretty bad Fourth of July!  However, Joey Chestnut is a top 10 athlete of all time.  I don’t care if people say “he’s not a real athlete,” “all he does it eat and eat and eat” well you know what?  You try training for this and see if you eat on average 64 hot dogs… I like to talk a lot but I had 6 last weekend and it didn’t end well.  You know why?  Because I’m not as athletic as Joey Chestnut.

I am going on record to say that Joey Chestnut will break his own record of 74 today.  You know why?  Because the world needs him to break it.  2020 has been a terrible year and we’re half way through it.  Can you imagine a better way to start turning this year around than watching JC eat 75 hot dogs???  75 is just an absurd number.  I can’t make it past like 4 without feeling sick and I don’t know anyone who can hold down more than 4 either.  But 75, that’s almost 19 times more hot dogs than the average person could eat (saying 4 is an average amount because let’s be serious here).  It’s a sickening number, but I am rooting for you today Joey to break that record.

Here’s a live stream, but I’m warning you please watch at your own risk and only if you have an empty stomach.
