A Fourth of July that Isn’t Normal

Usually by this time of year, we have an NBA champion, a Stanley Cup winner, the middle of baseball season, and getting ready for the return of football season.

However, that is not the case this year. Today is usually a day you get together with the people you are closest to and talk about those iconic moments that are currently happening in sports. It’s nothing but great debates and conversation about the specific sports.

We don’t get to experience that this year. It is not a normal thing for sports fans. This year, we’re in a fight that no one ever expected to be in. A worldwide pandemic that has put a lot of events and gatherings to a pause. It is sad because it has changed a lot of lives.

Although today isn’t going to be the same, it is okay to reflect on the good times that happened in sports. For all the four major sports, a championship was a toss-up. There was no clear-cut winner because there were so many great teams. I hope we get to see an ending to these suspended seasons and we get to see football in the fall.
