Why Aren’t the Celtics Striving with their New Head Coach, Ime Udoka?
The Celtics have started their season 2-3, two of those losses coming in terrible fashion. The vibe around the team is starting to feel like it was last year which is very odd to me. You would think, new head coach and new system that this team would start off the season really well.
However, that is not the case. Right now, head coach, Ime Udoka, is already aggravated by the lack of effort his new team is presenting and I do not blame him. Jaylen Brown, 2 great games, 2 terrible games, both of which he seemed to not have the energy going into those games. Tatum, has also been someone who has been very poor when it comes to his play. Either way, this is not what you expect from your two best players.
Tatum and Brown should be motivated to impress their new head coach. They should be leading by example and helping others around get better. When I watch the start of the season, I see lack of effort and really no energy whatsoever. This team is good enough to compete with the best of them so seeing this effort is very discouraging.
The Celtics obviously have time to get things right. However, with poor attitude and lack luster efforts, this team will fine themselves in a similar situation like last year, first round exit. The Celtics need to regain that pride back and show their city that they belong with the other major sports teams.
