Steelers at Browns: Fantasy Football Preview

Welcome to another exciting week in the NFL 21/22 season. In this weekend’s lineup, its the Steelers at Browns matchup featuring a rivalry like no other. For fantasy football league managers, some potential rides in this matchup. So, who do you consider starting, benching and possibly monitor? Allow me to share my thoughts with you, ahead of the action.

Consider Starting…

Najee Harris – Pittsburgh Steelers RB

One of the best products coming out of the NFL Draft this year, Najee Harris is one you should consider starting this week.

The rookie product out of Alabama has been setting all types of records in his first year with the Steelers and the season is far from over. So far through six games, Harris has carried the ball 102 times for 388 yards and 2 TD’s. In a game where Cleveland can offer a challenge for the running game, this could very well be another stellar performance for the rookie much like he did against Denver in week five.

Riding into week eight with over 100 scrimmage yards per week, 4 TD’s total (2 rushed, 2 received), Harris is a safe lock for week eight and for the next four weeks before Pittsburgh meets the Baltimore Ravens.

You Should Consider Benching…

Cleveland Browns Defense

Averaging about 4.5 points in most PPR fantasy leagues, the Cleveland Browns defense this week are a bit of a risky play. If you are a team currently looking to turn your season around with the hopes of playoffs, avoid Cleveland.

While the plus side of having Myles Garrett rushing on the edge is there, especially against a Steelers offense that has struggled with the front line offers an opportunity, simply there are concerns. One main concern I have is that regardless of whether Case Keenum or Baker Mayfield start, the wideouts for the Steelers can eat away at opportunities. Cleveland is averaging about 23 points allowed through seven weeks, and with Najee Harris being explosive in the backfield, Cleveland has their hands full coming into this matchup and simply isn’t a defense I’d consider starting.

Keep an Eye on – Browns’ Jarvis Landry!

Jarvis Landry comes into week eight riding without the “Injury Reserve” tag next to his name suggesting that he will involved in this matchup.

With Kareem Hunt out as well as Donovan Peoples-Jones potentially out for this game as well, Landry returns just at the perfect time for the Browns.

In addition, Landry’s value should remain high especially as Odell Beckham Jr’s. use continues to trend lower than expected.
