Where is the Fight in this Boston Bruins Team?

The one big question that has hovered over the 2021-2022 Boston Bruins has been the lack of fight and the lack of an Enforcer-Esque player on the team.

At this point, it is getting ridiculous, and here is why.

Why I Feel this is an Issue with the Boston Bruins…

As I sat and watched the last period and a half of the Boston Bruins taking on the Arizona Coyotes, there was once again a situation that irked me.

It was late in the game when Antoine Roussel of the Coyotes decided to jump Bruins star defencemen. All of this while McAvoy was taking 3-4 punches without taking his gloves off.

This all went down while Bruins teammates just stood there and watched. This is not the first time we have seen this happen, as players would go after Bergeron earlier in the season, and then of course his Marchand took into the boards against the Capitals earlier this month.

Why this has been an issue with the Boston Bruins…

As I stated, this has been a consistent thing with this year’s Bruins. The team has come a long way from the days of Milan Lucic, Shawn Thornton, and even Zdeno Chara being the enforcers of the Big Bad Bruins.

The Boston Bruins brought in Nick Foligno in the offseason to be “that guy”, but he’s injured. Then you have Trent Frederic, who has been up and down from Providence and the injured list, he’s still a young and raw player.

So, that begs the question, should the Bruins bring in an enforcer?

Should the Boston Bruins bring in an Enforcer, and why do they need one…

The short answer is yes, they should bring in someone that can at least intimidate opposing teams and make them pay for putting their hands on one of their best players.

Now I am in no way saying that it is a necessity to get one, but it is a thought. Even though we do not see these so-called “enforcers” as much in today’s game it is still a key piece to a hockey team.

I say this because fighting is still a thing in the league, and if there is one thing we know it’s that you never lay your hands on a team’s star player and/or captain.

Final Thoughts…

This whole situation is something the Bruins have been allowing too much this season. I just feel like it is something that needs to be addressed before the trade deadline on March 21st.

It is something to keep an eye on as the games get bigger when it comes to standings, it could be key to have one here going down the stretch.
