Where Does Antonio Brown End Up?
As most know, Antonio Brown has requested a trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers. It is clear after his recent comments that Brown is currently no fan of either the Steeler franchise, or quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. It is still unknown if Brown will be moved this offseason (due to the complexity of his contract), but he for sure wants to move on. So where does he end up?
The two spots that I find most intriguing for the star receiver are the San Francisco 49ers and the Indianapolis Colts. Brown has already posted on Instagram about his desire to play with the 9ers, and San Fran definitely has a need at the position.
A combination of George Kittle, Antonio Brown, and Jimmy Garoppolo would potentially vault San Francisco into a Wild Card spot after accumulating 12 wins in the last three years.
When it comes to Indianapolis, the Colts could elevate their team from a good-story, Wild Card team to a legit contender. They have the cap space necessary to take on his contract, and adding a top five receiver to an already great offense would make them scary. Instead of T.Y. Hilton and Dontrelle Inman/Ryan Grant/Chester Rogers/Zach Pascal catching passes from Andrew Luck, it would be Hilton and Brown. I like that duo a lot better than a mosh pit of number 3 and 4 receivers.
It will be interesting to see how it turns out, but if Pittsburgh does end up moving on from Brown, watch out for the Colts and 49ers to be in the race to acquire the star out of Central Michigan University.
