Top Ten Teams Heading Into Minicamp

Alright football fans, here we go! Who are the top ten teams heading into minicamp? Next week players will be reporting for rookie minicamp and mandatory minicamp. As always, teams were hard at work this offseason attempting to improve their roster. It’s always fun to rank teams. So today, let’s rank the top ten teams in the NFL heading into minicamp.

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Super Bowl LV: Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat Kansas City Chiefs

No surprise here, the defending champs are in the top spot. Tampa Bay had quite the offseason bringing back everyone from their Super Bowl team. Yes, everyone. Tampa is expected to run laps around the NFC South now that Drew Brees has retired and Julio Jones was traded to the Tennessee Titans. Tampa will dominate again this upcoming season and fans should expect to see them back in the playoffs and quite possibly the Super Bowl.

2. Kansas City Chiefs

The AFC Champions come in at the second spot. No surprise here either. The Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill coming back after another dominating season. Kansas City also addressed the offensive line in signing Joe Thuney and trading for Orlando Brown. Mahomes has protection which is troubling for opposing defenses. They’ll be the team to beat in the AFC but it won’t be as easy as some think.

3. Buffalo Bills

The Bills are coming off of one of their best seasons in years. They won the AFC East for the first time since 1995, and they won their first playoff game since 1995. Can Buffalo have a repeat season? Yes they can. Josh Allen returns with Stefon Diggs who were a dynamic one-two punch last season. Buffalo drafted Gregory Rousseau a defensive end from Miami who can rush the quarterback well. For the most part the pieces are there for Buffalo.

4. Baltimore Ravens

There’s not much separation between the Ravens and the Cleveland Browns. But for now, the Ravens have the edge. Lamar Jackson was coming off of his MVP season and he didn’t quite produce the same numbers from the season before. But he’s back and he’s got a wide receiver to throw to finally. The Ravens drafted Rashod Bateman from Minnesota who is a matchup nightmare. The offense will carry the load for the most part this season but expect Lamar and the Ravens to be a force in the AFC.

5. Cleveland Browns

Last season was a season the Browns and their fans will never forget. A winning record, a playoff appearance, and a road playoff win in Pittsburgh in dominant fashion. Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt were a two headed monster in the backfield. Myles Garrett was a matchup nightmare, and Baker Mayfield finally figured it out. Now, they added Jadeveon Clowney and Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah on defense. The biggest question on offense is that can Odell Beckham Jr fit in with the success Cleveland had last season. If he does, watch out for an even better Browns team.

6. Los Angeles Rams

5 LA Rams players who are unlikely to return in 2021

They might have some of the worst uniforms in the NFL but the Rams will be a top team next season. Goodbye Jared Goff and hello Matthew Stafford. The Rams upgraded at quarterback to go with the young talented offense. Plus when you have Aaron Donald on your team you will succeed. The Rams Super Bowl window is slowly closing and they are in win now mode.

7. Tennessee Titans

Speaking of win now mode, here are the Tennessee Titans. Obviously the big news is that they made a trade for Julio Jones. That’s great! They are a much more improved team with Jones now. He joins an offense that has Derrick Henry and AJ Brown two top players in the NFL. Of course his quarterback, Ryan Tannehill will also be much more improved as well. The future is bright in Tennessee. Expect the Titans to make a lot of noise this upcoming season.

8. San Francisco 49ers

SF 49ers: 5 reasons why team gets back into Super Bowl in 2022

The 49ers are coming back healthy. With Jimmy G, Nick Bosa and George Kittle all coming back expect the 49ers to be the team they were a few seasons ago. Last season was a wash and didn’t represent who the 49ers truly are. But, will Jimmy G be the starting quarterback? Trey Lance vs Jimmy G will be quite the competition to watch during training camp.

9. Indianapolis Colts

The Colts have a new quarterback of the future. Carson Wentz! Wentz was acquired this offseason from the Philadelphia Eagles and he joins a very young Colts offense that is ready to explode. Wentz will be the leader the Colts have been looking for since Andrew Luck’s abrupt retirement. The Colts are coming off of a wild card finish a season ago and look to challenge Tennessee for the AFC South division crown.

10. Arizona Cardinals

How the Arizona Cardinals could get to the NFL playoffs

This could come as a surprise to some but the Cardinals are a part of this list. Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins are a big reason why. They had an instant connection last year and Hopkins looked like he was the best receiver in the NFL. Plus on defense they added J.J. Watt who will be a force to handle now that he’s free from Houston. The Cardinals will shock a lot of people next year.
