Buffalo Sabres Fans, Be Prepared
It’s been a rough decade for Buffalo Sabres fans and this offseason might be the roughest one in a long time. According to TSN insider Darren Dreger, for Buffalo Sabres fans, the team is going to be one to watch in the offseason.
The Buffalo Sabres will provide ample content in the weeks ahead. Aside from the ongoing coach search, NHL clubs are calling Buffalo with interest in a number of players, including Jack Eichel. Initial conversations that will increase as we get closer to the Draft.

We’re still over a month before the NHL Draft and it’s definitely possible the Sabres could have more than one first round pick. Captain Jack Eichel made his frustration known last offseason and the situation isn’t any better this offseason. Not only is it because the team finished in last place but him and the team are in a stalemate. Eichel suffered a couple of injuries last season but the most recent one is the topic of conversation. Jack wants to get surgery for his neck. But, Sabres management doesn’t want him to because the procedure hasn’t been done on a player before. General manager Kevyn Adams has a lot to figure out this offseason and this situation is one of many he has to deal with.
So why am I telling my fellow Sabres fans to prepare? I believe it’s going to be a very tough offseason. I hate to say it but we need to face the harsh reality that Eichel won’t be here next season. It hasn’t worked out with him being here. I’m not blaming Jack, but it might be time to start over and ship him off somewhere else. I don’t want to trade him, he’s one of my favorite players. I would be heartbroken if they make the trade. However, it might be happening soon and I’m just warning Sabres fans to prepare for it. There are going to be moves this offseason for the Sabres, I don’t doubt that one bit. Unfortunately though, I think Jack is in the mix.
With that being said, it’s okay to have faith Sabres nation. But unfortunately I would be shocked if Eichel is still in Buffalo next season. There will be change this Summer and sadly, I think Buffalo will be looking for a new captain.
