Things to take away from the Celtics West Coast Trip.

First things first, a horrible scene last night as Kemba Walker was stretchered off with a neck injury after running into teammate Semi Ojeleya with his head down. It was a scene that was very tough to watch as seeing a great role model suffer a major injury.

The Boston Celtics are coming off a five-game road trip, and the team showed a lot of good things during it. Yes, they lost three games in tough fashion, but I believe this helps build team chemistry as they look to tighten up things throughout the year.

When playing Golden State, the Warriors played the Celtics very well. It tested the Celtics, but after hitting couple clutch shots, the team walked away with a nice and compelling win.

The team would go on to travel to Sacramento and what a great game it was. Both teams went back and forth. The game went right down the wire, but Marcus Smart came up short as he missed game-winner, giving this team some adversity to face.

The next night the team would travel into Phoenix, a team playing good basketball. For this Celtic team, it would show what this team was made up of. The Celtics took care of business, and it was something you wanted to see as a Celtics fan.

It seemed like every time last season when the team experienced a tough loss, it would linger for quite some time, causing them to lose more games than they should have.  It was very encouraging seeing them put that game quickly behind them and bounce back with a promising win the next night.

By winning against the Phoenix Suns, gave the Celtics the momentum they needed going into the Staples Center to take on one of the favorites in the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Clippers. Although the team lost the game, they still competed with a very good team. It is also worth mentioning that the Clippers did have Paul George and Kawhi Leonard on the floor for the first time all season, showing how much respect they have for the Celtics.

The team wrapped things up against the Denver Nuggets, and like mentioned, Kemba Walker went down with apparent neck injury. The team still fought and overcame a 19 point lead to give themselves a chance to win. The team fell short but the fight they had was encouraging to see.

It has been a fun start to the season, but right now the focus is on the health of Kemba Walker. The Celtics will be fine, but they need Walker on the court. He has been nothing but a great leader and a clutch player. I hope for a speedy recovery for Walker.
