The infamous Episode 69 is here! Join Justin and Liam and they throw around the Celtics Over/Under for season wins. Set at 47.5, the guys split their opinion on that matter. In the last decade, Boston has only one 50 or more games three times. Is this Over/Under too high for a team that was barely a playoff team last year? Will this season mark the fourth time in a 10-year-span the green and white hit that bench mark or is the new and improved Eastern Conference going to get the better of them once again?
The attention turns to contributions this season from unlikely sources. Each host picks a young prospect they think will boost the Celtics this season to a potential 50-win team. There is no shortage of answers with Brad Stevens looking to the draft in the last handful of years to re-tool the roster. Who of that young group could surprise even our hosts with this play this year? Beyond just younger guys too, Justin goes off script asking what newcomer in general will have some sneaky strong moments this season in the garden and Liam gives him a surprising answer much to his dismay.
Both of his last two destinations didn’t work in Richardson’s favor. His play was inconsistent and he seemed to lack passion. Now with a fresh scenery in his arrival to Boston, Richardson has a management team that clearly believes in him and a chance to make a huge impact on a potential deep playoff team if he can put it all together. The guys share their thoughts on the inconsistent but promising young hooper.
Last but not least, fan favorite Tacko Fall is shipping out of Boston. The leagues tallest player now resides in Cleveland Ohio, where he will join the log-jam of big men they have there. Tacko while not the most useful player has been a phenomenal personality and presence in his time in Boston. The impact truly goes beyond the numbers and 99 will be missed.
