The NHL’s Best Goal Celebrations

Guys in the NHL can get pretty creative after they score a goal and sometimes they can create some celebrations that become historic or they just piss off the other team and get run into the boards on their next shift. Let’s look at some of the top goal celebrations (cellies) in NHL history.

5. Alex Ovechkin  – Hot Stick

In 2009 Alex Ovechkin reached the 50 goal plateau for the third time in his career and had a celly set up for that feat. Teams couldn’t stop him from scoring he was on fire.

4. Milan Hejduk – Gone Swimming

Hejduk pulls a nasty toe drag and goes off the pipe and in. I think that’s worthy of a good celly and he won the game for Colorado in OT. After a tough day of work it’s nice to go for a swim Hejduk thought the same thing.

3.  Jaromir Jagr – The Salute

This is one of the best purely because everyone should love Jagr. Jagr flips a nasty one handed goal and casually salutes the crowd. The Jagr Salute still drives the girls wild.

2. Theo Fleury – Running Man

Sometimes the best cellies aren’t thought out and they’re filled with emotion. Theo Fleury scores on a breakaway to save the Flames from elimination in OT. His celebration seemed more like the Flames just won the Cup but still it’s a great one.

1. Teemu Selanne – Shooting the Glove

There is no better celebration than Teemu breaking the rookie scoring record. Nothing comes close this celly is utter savagery. If someone ever tops 76 goals in their rookie season they better be prepared with a celly better than this, good luck.
