The Latest on the Jack Eichel Sweepstakes
Buffalo Sabres captain Jack Eichel will most likely be in a different uniform next season. I think Sabres fans, including me, need to accept the fact he’s going to leave. The question is where will he go? The three teams that have been linked to Eichel most recently are the Los Angeles Kings, Columbus Blue Jackets and Anaheim Ducks. I know I left out other teams but those are the three teams that have been mentioned most recently. However, there is a new team in the mix. According to New York Post Sports, the Chicago Blackhawks are now showing interest in Jack.

This could be a company just looking for views but then again, it’s Jack Eichel so a lot of teams should be interested. Chicago is an interesting team. Captain Jonathan Toews didn’t play last year because of an injury and we don’t know when he’ll be back. They have a great core of younger players and Patrick Kane, so Eichel going there could help them out a lot, especially if Toews doesn’t come back. Again, this might not be even true but you never know nowadays.
Final Thoughts on Jack Eichel
My advice to Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams, send Eichel to a western conference team. Chicago, Los Angeles, Anaheim, whoever. You do not want to send him somewhere else in your own conference where you’ll see him three or four times a year. The only way I would be willing to send Eichel to a team in the eastern conference is if the offer is too good not to pass up. That’s what I would do if I was Adams. We’ll see what happens but a trade could happen at any point.
