The Jack Eichel Sweepstakes Could Be Ending Soon
The Jack Eichel saga might be finally wrapping up soon. Yesterday, the Minnesota Wild bought out two players who had lengthy contracts. Both Zach Parise and Ryan Suter were bought out, freeing up some cap space. There was some speculation that rookie of the year Kirill Kaprizov could be leaving the Wild and go back to the KHL. However, it’s possible Minnesota could be freeing up space to acquire Jack Eichel.

As you can see in the tweet above, it looks like this could be the reasoning behind why the Wild bought out both Parise and Suter. It’s possible that they freed up space for Kaprizov but Eichel has been linked to the Wild ever since the rumors began. The tweet above isn’t the only source though. Final Thoughts
I cannot express this point enough to general manager Kevyn Adams. You CANNOT trade Eichel within the Eastern Conference. A couple of days ago, Eichel did an interview with Sara Underwood of Boston 25 news. In the interview, Eichel mentioned how awesome it would be to play for his hometown team at some point. Kevyn Adams, do not trade him to the Bruins. I know for a fact I would not want to face him a few times a year. The New York Rangers were also mentioned as a possible destination for Jack, again no. I don’t want him anywhere within the conference, let alone in the division. Ship him off as far out West as you can. Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet said an Eichel deal could happen after the expansion draft which is next week. If you ask me, I have a feeling this could be Jack’s last week as a member of the Buffalo Sabres.
