The Cowboys Are on a Watermelon Sugar High
The Dallas Cowboys might have turned their pathetic season around on Sunday. If the Cowboys indeed did turn their season around, they have a sledgehammer and watermelons to thank.
The Cowboys came into Sunday’s game with the Minnesota Vikings in search of a much needed win. They are battling the New York Giants for first place in the lowly NFC East. Dallas came into the game 2-7 and needing inspiration finally found some.
I Want to be Your Sledgehammer
The Cowboys head coach finally figured out a way to connect with his players. In Saturday’s final meeting at their hotel, McCarthy got his team together in the ballroom. He would go over the teams most important objective for their game against the Vikings, smash the ball out of Dalvin Cook’s hands.

The Cowboys did just that, Cook had 27 rushes for 115, one touchdown and one fumble. The defense responded to their head coach putting labels on the watermelons in the ballroom and watching him smash each one with a sledgehammer. He even had a watermelon with a picture of Cook on it that he smashed.
How to Pick a Perfect Watermelon
This has been a season to forget for the Cowboys and McCarthy. The entire season has been overshadowed by ineffective play, poor coaching and injuries. After this past Sunday and their 31-28 victory over the Vikings, the Cowboys can use the sledgehammer game as motivation.
Believe it or not at 3-7 the Cowboys are in the hunt to make the playoffs. That is how terribly bad the NFC East is this year. After a devastating loss of their franchise quarterback Dan Prescott, to think they’d be in a position for the playoffs seemed unrealistic.
The Eagles now sit in first place at 3-6-1 while the Cowboys, Giants and the Washington Football team are all 3-7. McCarthy is going to need to hit up a Trader Joe’s or his local farmer’s market for more watermelons if his team is going to pull this out.
Turkey Day Showdown
Dallas will play host to Washington on Thanksgiving in a key matchup. The Cowboys will be favored over the Washington Football Team as they look to avenge a 25-3 loss from Week 7. That was the game where he took a vicious hit from linebacker Jon Bostic. Dalton was hit so hard from the defender it knocked his helmet off his head and placed him into the concussion protocol program.

If the Cowboys can get a win on Thursday they’ll temporarily hold sole possession of first place at 4-7. I am not ready to say the Cowboys are back but they have something to rally around. If McCarthy busts out the watermelons again this week, it might come to the ire of the biggest watermelon fan on the planet Dave Portnoy. During the quarantine Portnoy was looking for people to bring him fresh watermelon while he was vacationing.
So many jealous watermelon haters out there

Conclusion
I am not ready to say the Cowboys are back, considering a few weeks ago I was questioning what was next for them after TabascoGate. Dallas needs a big victory this week in Arlington and whatever amount of fans who are allowed in, need this Skip Bayless video on the big screen. He is there new Gino like we have in Boston.
