The Celtics Continue To Pull At My Heart Strings
We knew last season once the clock hit triple zeroes in Milwaukee, change was coming. It was evident. The Celtics found themselves falling short of expectations. They ended up losing in the Eastern Conference semifinals to the Milwaukee Bucks in five games. After that, a lot of the players decided to go elsewhere. Kyrie went to Brooklyn. Al Horford signed with the 76ers. Marcus Morris ended up with the Knicks and Terry Rozier is now in Charlotte. Even though the team is very new this year, the Celtics are still pulling at my heart strings in a very good way. Want examples? Okay, let’s get into it!
Brad Stevens Being Accountable
A year ago, NBA GMs voted Brad Stevens the best coach in the league. This year, he got zero votes.
"I’m as disappointed in how last year went as anybody. Ultimately, I'm trying to be a lot better. I know our team is trying to be better.”https://t.co/DuxDCUh52Q

Listen, I get some of the slander with Brad. He hasn’t brought the Celtics to the NBA Finals yet. The team took a step in the wrong direction last year. But you know what? I DON’T CARE!! I love having Brad Stevens acknowledge what needs to be done this season. He is trying to get better every single day. He wants the Celtics to be better and sees the honest effort the team is giving to do just that. What more do you want from your head coach? If you’re off the Brad Stevens train, I feel sorry for you.
Kemba Walker’s Leadership
Kemba Walker on this season: “It’s going to be fun … The ball may not go in every night, but we’re going to play as hard as we can.”

Haven’t we seen this before with the Celtics? I believe so! We loved the days of the gritty and hard-nosed Boston Celtics. The fact that Kemba Walker is acknowledging what type of attitude the Celtics are striving for this year is a huge positive. Kemba has said all of the right things since arriving in Boston. Something tells me we’re going to continue to love this guy more and more as the season pushes forward. It’s great to have a leader that actually wants to be here.
The Celtics Continuously Growing Chemistry

I get it. It may not be the most exciting thing in the world, but it proves a point. The point being that this Celtics team is genuinely liking each other so far. If you like your teammates, it makes it more likely to have a successful season. The Celtics have a lot of talent, but need to play together. We saw last season they had the talent, but the chemistry lacked big time. Keep singing happy birthday to everyone on the team for all that I care! If it leads to wins, then I think Celtics fans will approve.
In Conclusion
I’m loving this Celtics team so far without a single regular season game having been played yet. But, that’s the difference between this year and last year. Last year, we were furious to see a team underachieve as much as they did. This year, we just want to be happy to watch the Celtics actually play. Will they make playoffs? Most likely yes. Are they a championship favorite? At this moment, no. But, it’s a long NBA season. So far, I’m a huge fan of this Celtics team. Next Wednesday night can’t come soon enough!
