Red Sox acquire RHP Brad Peacock from Cleveland
The Red Sox swung a trade on Monday acquiring right-handed pitcher Brad Peacock from Cleveland.

Boston will send the Indians cash considerations in exchange for the veteran righty.
The acquisition of Peacock comes on heels of the Red Sox adding reliever Michael Feliz on a minor-league deal. Peacock is eligible to be traded even after the July 30 deadline because he hasn’t been on a 40-man roster this season.
The new right-hander is also eligible for the postseason.
In 11 games for the Indians Triple-A affiliate, Peacock owns a 0-4 record and a 7.68 ERA. He has pitched in 34 innings of work with 38 strikeouts, walking 14 batters and has given up six home runs.
Brad Peacock provides additional depth
Peacock has spent his entire career with the Astros minus his first professional season with the Nationals. The swingman was very effective for the Astros from 2016-2018 posting ERA’s of 3.69, 3.00 and 3.46 each season.
The addition of Peacock is additional depth at the upper minors for the Sox. Chaim Bloom has been making minor depth additions to the overall roster since the trade deadline. While it’s unknown as to how much of an impact Peacock will make for the major-league roster. The veteran will provide depth especially now since Martin Perez is the latest member of the Red Sox to test positive for COVID-19.
