Phillip Dorsett Deserves Better
The Patriots roster has been overlooked due to the latest off-season controversy with Antonio Brown. The team cut ties with the Pro-Bowl Wide Receiver Friday afternoon just after 11 days of signing him.
However, this isn’t new for the Patriots as they went through this last season with Josh Gordon. It has always been that next man up mentality. This gives back the opportunity for receivers like Jakobi Meyers and most importantly, Phillip Dorsett.

Dorsett is such a reliable target for Tom Brady. The last 23 targets to Dorsett have resulted in completions, dating back to last season. He deserves better. It feels like the Patriots always tossed him on the side every time they sign a big-time player. Then when that player is cut off from the team (Brown and Gordon) Dorsett is there to bail them out.

You have to respect Dorsett and his commitment to this team. Most players who aren’t getting the time they deserve, request a trade. He has continued to work hard and has been nothing but a great professional. The Patriots are fortunate to have a guy like this on their roster. He will continue to show out in this offense and this time it will be for a full season.
No more distractions, no more drama, just simple Patriots football. Brady will continue to target his favorite receivers in Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon. However, Dorsett has earned the trust of Tom Brady and will be one of the most important pieces moving forward.
