Patriots vs. Dolphins Preview
The Patriots host the Dolphins yet again to open the season and I am here to give you a Patriots vs. Dolphins Preview.
So much of the unknown surrounds the start of the 2021 season. How will Mac Jones fair in his first ever start? Will Tua make a jump in his second season? A lot to ask, but what are some things we can expect for the Patriots against the Dolphins on Sunday? Let’s take a look:
The Pats Offensive Game – Preview
Let’s get this Patriots vs. Dolphins Preview started.
First up, the Patriots offense will most likely come out very conservatively to start this game against the Dolphins defense. They built this offense with a strong offensive line and a strong running game. Damien Harris will most likely have a huge workload in this opener, but we will see a smattering of all the running backs. James White will be the pacifier for Mac Jones to rely on when he gets into trouble, and JJ Taylor will most likely be a good pass catcher as well.
The passing game will be interesting to see. Mac seemed to have built a rapport with Jakobi Meyers, and clicked with Kendrick Bourne. The tight ends can be an integral role in this game. If Mac gets on the same page as them early in the season, it will be a great combination to come this season. Jonnu can be a great chain mover, and Hunter Henry is going to be huge in the red zone. The guy who seemed to be off the mark in the preseason was Nelson Agholor. He is going to need to get it together early, or else he’ll just be another Ochocinco.
Pats Defense! – What To Expect Against Dolphins Offense?
The defense is going to have their hands full with this Dolphins team as well. There is so much talent in their skill positions, and it will be up to Tua to make sure they thrive. Myles Gaskin was a legit back last year, and should continue to have success as the lead guy in Miami. The receiver corp will be unreal, with Devante Parker, Jaylen Waddle and Mike Gesicki at tight end. There’s no telling what could happen once they have Will Fuller. Luckily for the Pats he is suspended for week 1. Waddle will most likely be Tua’s go-to-guy since they were teammates in college, and should be the guy they key on. Gesicki can be a problem too, and without Pat Chung, somebody is going to have to step up and cover the tight ends. Kyle Dugger didn’t do so hot in preseason, so maybe JoeJuan Williams will be that guy.
In Conclusion…
This could be a rivalry for years to come. With Buffalo seeming to be the dominant team in the division now, and the Jets are still the Jets, the Pats and Dolphins could be competing for 2nd place and wild card spots a lot.
However, now that I have given you my Patriots vs. Dolphins Preview, now its time for a prediction. Pats 23-20 is my score prediction.
