The New England Revolution unveil a new logo after being one of the original 10 teams to holdout on getting a new one going. While received with a tidal wave of emotional responses, the move signifies a commitment to modernization and a refresher to the clubs “Brand identity”. There was a lot of research that went behind this move. However, as part of that research two conclusions were made:

  1. “Don’t change the name” As you notice, the new logo does not feature FC, SC, or Real as the club loves its name and the name resonates.
  2. The history of the club name its of utmost important and represents something that New England is adamant about.

These conclusions with the addition of the crayon flag, which was a bit outdated, helped in making the new logo that much more important of a task to undertake.

The new logo, represents a bond with the people while connecting with the history behind the teams’ name. Here’s a look at what each piece of the logo means per New England Revolutions’ official site.

Fans React to the Unveiling Of New Logo!

Take a look at the tweet that sent Revolution fans raving and reacting to the news:

Final Thoughts…

At last, personally I am very happy with the decision on a new logo.

The move comes at the heels of a rebranding and revamping of this team that was started in 2019. Shortly after, Bruce Arena took over the sporting director position for this organization. The new logo also signals for me a new beginning for a team that has drawn a magical season and has serious hopes and possibilities to contend for a title this year.

If anything, this adds excitement and becomes more the reason for Boston Sports fans to support this team.
