Reports are coming out today that the NBA is seemingly tired of Drake and his sideline antics.
If you missed it, here’s a clip of what happened during game 1 of the playoff series between the Cavs and the Raptors.

This request apparently came from the NBA VP, Kiki VanDeWeghe, after Raptors President, Masai Ujiri, went to meet with him to discuss Kevin Love’s vicious elbow to the face of DeMar DeRozan. And according to the column by Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun, Kiki appeared to be a tad more focused on talkin’ a little Drake, AKA, the King of Toronto. I’ll be honest, I’m pretty out on the rap game so I don’t think anyone actually calls him that. I’m 40-year-old dad who understands that I’m not hip when it comes to rap. Well, I’m actually a 24-year-old guy with no kids. Shoutout… Nevermind. But that Lil’ Dicky AKA “Leftward Sloping Penis”, though.
But my God am I with the NBA on this. Listen, I love that Drake is this much of a super fan of the Raptors. I would be the exact same way with the Red Sox if I were a huge celebrity. I would be right by the Red Sox dugout going nuts during every single playoff game. I don’t doubt that in the slightest. But there’s a line my man and getting into near physical altercations with players from the other organization is so beyond that line. Especially because you are legit directly on the sideline. Like, of course, they’re going to bark back and come after you if they want to. There’s legit nothing that would stop them.
It is laugh out loud funny that Drake is in the heads of these NBA execs. You show up to a meeting to talk about an elbow thrown by your token white guy and next thing you know the NBA is laying down the hammer about your celebrity fan losing his mind on the sideline.
In all seriousness though, I’m all in on Drake being there and going bonkers for his boys. Even though they are notorious losers. But straight up, I would be the same way so I can’t hate on him for that.
