March Madness: One of the Greatest Events of the Year is Cancelled

COVID-19 has taken away one of the most celebrated sports events of the year and has left a lot of people in disappointment. All the hard work from the players, especially the seniors, has been taken away from them.

The first announcement regarding the tournament was going to have the tourney but without fans.  The hope was to decrease the risk of the players potentially being exposed to the Coronavirus. However, with professional sports putting a holt to their seasons, the NCAA had no choice but to take action with this crisis.

It is unfortunate to see one of the best events of the year canceled. Over the years, the tournament has brought many exciting moments to the sports world.

Thinking of the Seniors

When it comes to seniors, I hope the NCAA considers doing something for them that allows them to play again. The circumstances isn’t even about the tournament. It’s about the many senior student-athletes that had an ending they did not expect.

I think the NCAA should have just postponed the tournament and spring sports instead of just cancelling them. It seemed like they just to conclusion without seeing if they could have potentially pushed everything back. I am disappointed that there will be no tournament this year, but COVID-19 is a series thing, and it is about the safety of the student-athletes. I just wished the NCAA postponed their sports seasons, not cancelled them right away.
