Lock, Fade And Stay Away (CFB) (9/19/20)

If you want the rest of my lock(s) and all of Fiesta’s make sure that you are following us on twitter (@thechasers617).

Lock(s):

Louisville ML (1.2u/1u)

The Louisville Cardinals are taking on the Miami Hurricanes in what looks to be the game of the week. Louisville is looking to build off a good first season under Scott Satterfield. Their starting quarterback Michale Cunningham has been fun to watch during his time at Louisville, and the redshirt junior is looking to make a big splash this season to up his draft stock. Watching Cunningham play at Louisville is bringing me back to the Charlie Strong and Teddy Bridgewater days. I loved that era of Louisville football, and I am seeing a reincarnation of it right now.

Miami is still a young team, and their quarterback D’eriq King is also looking to play well to get himself drafted high in the NFL Draft. I think this is going to be a great overall game, but I am rocking with the Cardinals tonight. Lock in Louisville on the money line as I am risking 1.2 units to make 1 unit.

Troy -2.5 (1.1u/1u)

The Troy Trojans are looking to bounce back after their mediocre season a year ago. Troy who has been one of the better teams in the Sun Belt for the last few seasons, but last year they disappointed heavily. They went 5-8 and their defense really let them down. Troy’s offense has always been in the top 32 of the country for as long as I can remember. Now the issue with their offense this season is who is going to be under center. It looks like Gunnar Watson a redshirt sophomore is going to get the nod during their first game of the season. He does have JUCO transfer Parker Mcneil right on his back for that QB1 spot though.

Today the Trojans are taking on Middle Tennessee State who I am not high on at the moment. I love the fact that Troy’s big three at receivers are back this season in Kaylon Geiger, Reggie Todd and Khalil McClain who helped this offense tremendously a season ago. Troy also has B.J. Smith who is back after missing the majority of last season with a knee injury. Smith was a 1000 yard rusher in 2018. Lock in Troy -2.5 as I believe their offense is going to be fantastic today, and I am risking 1.1 units to make 1 unit on this play.

Fade:

Duke Blue Devils -3.5

The Duke Blue Devils played Notre Dame tough in the first half last week. They didn’t perform like they wanted to in the second half. This week they are taking on Boston College who looks a lot better than they did a season ago. BC brings in Notre Dame transfer and redshirt sophomore Phil Jurkovec to be their guy under center and he looks good from what I have seen so far on his highlights. Duke has Clemson transfer Chase Brice for them who looked pretty good against a tough Notre Dame team. Brice though did struggle at times, and I feel that we will see some struggles today against Boston College. I am big on Boston College this season, and think they can win this game out right. They opened as six point under dogs, and are now down to 3.5 point under dogs. Line moved a bunch, fade the Blue Devils today.

Stay Away:

Under 48 (USF vs Notre Dame)

Ian Book has been at Notre Dame for what seems like an eternity now, but he is ready to lead this team to a hopeful shot at a National Championship Game appearance. Today they play USF who looked good against the Citadel, but everybody looks good against the Citadel (except for South Carolina and Georgia Tech that one time). Notre Dame is the better team and will play like that team today on the football field. The over/under is super low at 48, and I think this comfortably hits the over. Stay far far away from the under in this one.
