Lock, Fade And Stay Away (7/24/20)

Lock:

Braves +120

Atlanta has a very talented lineup from top to bottom, and should be a team that you see people betting throughout the season on the regular. The Braves young core of Acuna, Albies, Freeman, etc. are going to be a force and we are going to see it first hand tonight. With the Universal DH rule coming into play, the Braves can have a fantastic chance to show how good they are going to be offensively against the Mets tonight. Even though they are on the road against one of the best pitchers in the game in Jacob deGrom I really like the Braves even as an underdog as one of my locks today.

Rays -156

The Rays have a very good all-around team and with their ace Charlie Morton on the mound tonight it looks to be a no-brainer on why I have the Rays as a lock. I love Tampa’s lineup even with Meadows out tonight due to injury. Also Charlie Morton was very good for the Rays last season, and will look to continue his excellence tonight against a inconsistent Blue Jays lineup. One night this Toronto lineup is unbelievable, and another night they struggle to gain any momentum. This is based off of how I saw them play last season of course. Lock in the Rays tonight as they will start off the shorter campaign on the right track tonight.

Fade:

Cubs -128

I think the Cubs lineup is good, but their pitching staff is going to scare me away from them all year long. Kris Bryant, Javier Baez, and that lineup are very talented and can easily carry a game by themselves. Tonight is not one of those games where that happens. Chicago’s pitching staff was so inconsistent last season, and I can see same trend happening to start off the season. Look for the Brewers to take advantage of the Cubs pitching inconsistencies tonight. Fade the Cubs as I think their pitching is going to cause them tonight.

Stay Away:

Over/Under 9.5 Baltimore vs Boston

This game could be an absolute all out run fest, or it could be a very low scoring game. There is no way to show what direction this game goes in tonight. Both teams pitching staffs aren’t great. Boston’s lineup is very good with JD Martinez, Boegarts, Devers and company, while the Orioles are still trying to find out who they want to build their offense around. This game is very much so a stay away bet on my end. The lack of signs showing me to go either over or under makes me want to stay away.
