Kendrick Perkins could care less about where Kyrie is going.. 👀👀pic.twitter.com/TtU7HgdLGc

You know you messed up somewhere along the line when Big Perk is mad at you.
We already knew that there was disdain between these two former teammates, as Kendrick Perkins made his feelings about Kyrie Irving public a few weeks ago:
I asked Kendrick Perkins about what could help the situation if Kyrie Irving returned to Boston. “I don’t know. Kyrie’s just a different dude. I don’t know if he can change. You can’t really say he’s still a young talent; he’s a vet now in this league.”

Now, Perk is back again, but this time he’s letting it all out. To say that he “doesn’t care” about one of the bigger free agency decisions over the last few years is crazy. This is a story that will dominate news headlines for months, and Perk could give a shit because he hates the guy. I respect it.
Being someone who has embodied what it means to be a Celtic in the past, Perk has every right to speak out on this situation. And he isn’t wrong either, Kyrie never really did embrace being a member of this historic franchise. You can pull up the receipts, but I’ll be the first to admit that I was wrong about Kyrie re-signing this Summer. I think he’s gone, and a lot of it has to do with what Perk has been saying. If he embraced this city, this franchise, and this fanbase like he should have, he wouldn’t have gotten run out of town the way he did. Kyrie has been one of my favorite players since entering the league, and he will continue to be, regardless of where he plays next season, but he didn’t handle this situation the right way at all.
