Jaylen Brown is a National Treasure That We Need to Protect At All Costs
Jaylen Brown is my favorite player on this wildly likable Celtics team. It’s a close competition with Marcus Smart, but JB edges him out mainly because of how underappreciated he is. The success of the Boston Celtics going forward–you know, when they win a championship next season–hinges on the success of both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
And my favorite thing about Jaylen is that when he was taken at the third overall pick, a ton of C’s fans were FLABBERGASTED.
Which, I got at the time because one of the main knocks on him then was that he, uhm, wasn’t great at shooting a basketball. And for all of my beginners in the world of the NBA, that’s a pretty important piece to being successful in the league.

This 2019-2020 Celtics were, or are, just refreshing. I don’t know if we’re talking past or present at this point.
We didn’t have a superstar named Kyrie Irving who did nothing but speak with a condescending attitude when he was here. Jaylen Brown, who very clearly has thrived since the fake intellect in Kyrie dipped for Brooklyn, has taken on a leadership role and stepped his game up to a whole new level.
Brown’s a guy who is 100% impossible not to root for. I don’t know if you caught his interview with GQ, but the man is as well rounded as they come.
We’re talking tea. We’re talking books. We’re talking sage. This man wants nothing but good vibes, happiness and knowledge. And while he’s busy getting all of that taken care of, he’s developing into a star in the NBA. Danny Ainge was smart to lock him down with a new contract ahead of this current (?) season, because he’s a piece that will bring Boston another banner.
