It Turns Out That David Price is Just Like the Rest of Us
David Price was sent back to Boston yesterday after suffering some arm/hand soreness. Price had been battled a similar injury last year, keeping him out for a good chunk of the season. There’s no word as to how long he’ll be out right now, but there is a funny theory as to why he might be hurt this time around:
Cora said David Price has been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome. When a reporter suggested Price is a big gamer and plays a lot of Fortnite – potential cause for this injury – Cora said he’d speak to him about it when he rejoins team. The perils of modern baseball. #RedSox

Price got carpal tunnel from playing too much Fortnite. I. Am. Dead. Obviously, if this were to be the exact cause of Price’s carpal tunnel, Red Sox fans would have every right to be pissed off. That’s the guy you signed to be your ace. You’re giving him $217M to throw gems, not drop out of the sky and murder people at Tilted Towers every night.
All I can say is that I feel your pain, David. I play a shit ton of Fortnite (I’m garbage), so I know how strenuous it can be on your hands. I don’t play enough to get carpal tunnel from it, but either which way, I feel you bro. Part of me wants this to be true for comedy sake, but the Red Sox fan in me really hopes this isn’t what caused his injury. It would just add to the long list of shit that he’s gotten from Sox fans during his time in Boston.
