Get Rid of Two: Condiments Edition

This isn’t a Patriots, Red Sox, or Celtics blog coming from me this time. It’s cold outside. There’s a blizzard going on in New England. So I wanted to change it up a bit. I look on Twitter and see a post from CGS Social Media Manager Matt Burnett about condiments.

Anyone that personally knows me knows I am a HUGE condiment and sauce guy. It just adds the flavor to any food you eat throughout the day. I’ve done one of these before with specific restaurant sauces. Today is going to be a little more general. Three categories: IN, FENCE, or OUT. IN means it’s no doubt staying on the list. FENCE means it can go either way. OUT means it’s OFF the list. So let’s get into it.

#1 Condiment: Ranch…FENCE

If you look at my other blog linked into this one, you know I rock with the blue cheese. Ranch isn’t a favorite of mine, but it definitely isn’t the worst on this list. I’ll have my pizza with ranch and the occasional vegetable with it. But otherwise, I don’t use ranch that much. So I won’t get rid of it entirely. But it isn’t a number one choice.

#2 Condiment: Barbecue Sauce: IN

Barbecue sauce should always be in no matter what the case! It’s sweet, it’s savory and you can have it with a lot of different foods. Whether you’re having a barbecue yourself, making a burger and want a different taste, or whatever the reason may be; BBQ sauce is here to stay. Out of the six on this list, I put barbecue sauce at #2 overall. So it’s staying and not going anywhere.

#3 Ketchup: IN

This should a slam dunk of #1 overall on this list. Ketchup can be used anytime of the day. Use it at breakfast with your eggs. You can use it at lunch with a burger. Use it at dinner for all I care! But ketchup is far and away the number one condiment on this list. It’s staying on that list for a very very long time.

#4 Mustard: FENCE

I personally like mustard. But it isn’t a top choice on this list. Mustard goes great with hot dogs. Other than that, I don’t know why else you really use mustard. It is very close to getting into the OUT category. But it narrowly misses being booted off the list.

#5 Mayo: OUT

I don’t use mayo that much at all. The only exception is when it is on a roast beef sandwich with BBQ sauce and cheese. But other than that, I just have no use for it. Mayo just looks gross a lot of the time and a lot of other people would agree with that too. Mayo is OUT, plain and simple.

#6 Louisiana Hot Sauce: OUT

I want something clear. This isn’t for ALL hot sauces. This is simply for the specific brand mentioned above. Louisiana hot sauce I’ve heard is amazingly hot. I don’t handle hot and spicy very well. I don’t remember ever using Louisiana hot sauce for anything. So that being the case, Louisiana hot sauce is OUT on this condiment list.

In Conclusion

That does it! What are the two condiments you’d keep off of your list? Let us know @CouchGuySports on Twitter. Stay safe and warm today everyone!
