Fantasy Football: Start / Sit Week 13

Another week, another start sit coming from yours truly. But unfortunately I’ve been on a bit of a cold streak.

Last week I went about 50/50 on my picks. I totally screwed up at quarterback, and messed up advising you to start both Jaylen Samuels and Tyrell Williams

Obviously I put my reasoning in last week’s article about why I thought what I thought, but none of that came to fruition. The Jets dominated the game against Oakland, Wentz looked TERRIBLE against the Seahawks in a low-scoring affair, and for some reason the Steelers only let Jaylen Samuels touch the ball 5 times against the Bengals.

But I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: that was last week. This week, it is week 13 and there are new games to be played, including three tomorrow on Thanksgiving. Even better is the fact that no team is on bye for the first time since week 3. Talk about sensational. So here we go, my start /sits for week 13.

Quarterback:

Start- Nick Foles, Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars are taking on the Tampa bay Buccaneers on Sunday. In fantasy football, you attack the Buccaneers defense which is giving up almost 300 yards passing a game. For a Jags offense that has the 10th most pass attempts in the league this season, Foles is a good play this week.

Sit- Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings

The stigma surrounding Kirk Cousins and his performance in big games flipped a little bit after his performance earlier this season in the Vikings victory against the Dallas Cowboys. But, I still can’t trust Cousins in big games especially if that means on Monday Night Football AT the Seahawks.

Running Back:

Start- Miles Sanders, Philadelphia Eagles

With Jordan Howard out the last two weeks, rookie Miles Sanders has played on 85 and 84% of snaps. In those two games Sanders has put up 6.7 and 11.6 PPR points. With the amount of time Sanders is on the field, you would expect a lot more points: I expect those points to come against a bad Miami Dolphins this week.

Sit- David Montgomery, Chicago Bears

David Montgomery against the 31 ranked Detroit Lions run defense? Count me out!

We did this last time when Montgomery played the Lions and he rewarded fantasy owners with a 6 point PPR performance. He needs to get in the end zone to be relevant and I can’t imagine a Mitch Trubisky led offense does anything spectacular tomorrow.

Wide Receiver:

Start- DeVante Parker, Miami Dolphins

The former first-round pick pick out of the University of Louisville is finally producing in his in fifth-year in the league. Parker hasn’t performed like the guy they drafted him to be, but this season he has flipped the switch under Brian Flores.

In PPR formats, Parker hasn’t scored less than 10 PPR points since week 4. The Dolphins throw all the time, Parker is one of the only offensive options, and the Eagles secondary is the most vulnerable part of their defense. Fire up the DeVante Parker train!

Sit- Cortland Sutton, Denver Broncos

The Broncos quarterback situation is a total mess right now. Apparently, rookie Drew Lock is ready to return from injury and challenge Brandon Allen. I don’t want to trust a passing game in the hands of either of them. Add in that Sutton will be matched up with 2-time pro-bowler Casey Hayward, I would want to shy away.
