Fantasy Football Preview: Carolina Vs Houston

Week three of fantasy football is now underway and we have to start previewing some of these matchups. The first one up to preview is obviously the Thursday night matchup between Carolina and Houston. Carolina has been quite the surprise in the first two weeks. While Houston looks like they are shaken up at the moment. With that being said here is my fantasy football preview for the Thursday Night Football matchup.

MUST PLAY:

D.J. Moore

D.J. Moore is my must play player in this fantasy matchup. I mean you always play Christian McCaffrey no matter what, but Moore is a guy that is going to ball out this week. Led the team in targets in week two with eleven, while the next closest on the team in targets was McCaffrey with six. Darnold and Moore have got some chemistry going right now and you want to cash in on it. Carolina is playing a Houston team that is struggling defensively after last week. I would play Moore as high as my WR2 this week, but he is a must play guy if you are rostering him and don’t second guess yourself.

Prediction: 8 Receptions 115 Receiving yards and a touchdown. WR18 this week for me.

Keep An Eye On:

Terrace Marshall Jr.

Terrace Marshall Jr is a name that I am keeping an eye on in week number three. Marshall went from having six targets in week one to having three in week two. I think Marshall is an intriguing play here, because of the fact that I could see this being his breakout game. Marshall Jr. has the talent we saw it at LSU and with Joe Brady (former LSU OC) as Carolina’s OC, I truly think Marshall will be on the radar for a plethora of fantasy owners after this week. Marshall is owned in 16,9 percent of leagues on ESPN. Keep an eye on Marshall as he could blow up and be a reliable flex option for weeks to come.

Avoid:

Houston’s Running Backs

Houston’s running backs haven’t been bad, but they have not been good in the first two weeks of the season. We saw how clustered their backfield is in week two in their loss to Cleveland. Ingram led the team in carries, but David Johnson and Phillip Lindsay saw a bit of a workload as well. I am staying far away from any running back on this team this week for two reasons. The first is due to the inconsistencies of the Texans running game you never know what you’re going to get. The second is that Carolina held a guy like Alvin Kamara to five rushing yards last week. Carolina’s defense is solid and I think ALL Houston running backs are avoidable this week.

Other Fantasy Predictions:

Christian McCaffrey; RB1 this week for me.

Sam Darnold: QB15 this week for me.

Robby Anderson: WR35 this week for me.

Brandin Cooks: WR29 this week for me.
