Fantasy Football Preview: Cardinals vs. Titans

The start of the Fantasy Football season is here after a great showdown between the Cowboys and the Bucs last night! Now, we move onto Sunday where the Cardinals vs. Titans is likely to also be massive showdown.

So, what can we expect out of this match up fantasy wise? Allow me to share my thoughts with you here!

Cardinals vs. Titans – Key Players for Arizona!

So, as this Cardinals vs. Titans game approaches, who are some of the key players for the Arizona Cardinals that you should start in your fantasy league teams this week? Here are some of my key players for you:

Kyler Murray – QB.

Did you know Murray was QB1 in all of fantasy football last year prior to sustaining that week 11 injury against Seattle Seahawks? Personally, I think Murray is poised to once again have a phenomenal season fantasy-wise for many reasons. He offers a great value with his mobility but additionally, his weapons around him make him an incredible asset in fantasy leagues.

Murray is surrounded by targets like DeAndre Hopkins, newly acquired AJ Green, Christian Kirk all at WR. They also drafted rookie talent out of Purdue, Rondale Moore, who I personally see as a potential great value this year for Arizona.

Expect Murray’s mobility to be an issue for the Titans defense to deal with. Additionally, the deep ball will also be in favor here for Murray’s connection with Hopkins. (Remember that Hail Mary against Buffalo last year?).

DeAndre Hopkins – WR1.

I shouldn’t even have to say much about this stud. However, if you have him on your league, and didn’t start him, you will need to ask yourself some serious questions. Hopkins led all NFL receivers in first downs last year and despite a dip in the average depth target, he was a big value in the fantasy football end of things. He is a must-start by all means!

Titans Key Players!

The more I think about this years’ Titans team, the more scary it looks to me.

The thought of Ryan Tannehill being surrounded by this much talent is eyebrow raising stuff. When you have arguably, a top 5 RB in the game with Derrick Henry in your team. Then, you look at AJ Brown and Julio Jones as your WR targets, how do you not have good hope for this team? Let me share with you my key players for the Titans in this colossal collision coming up Sunday.

Easily the hardest RB in the game top stop, especially when that stiff arm comes at you! While Arizona did well last year in the blitzing game, this is a tough one for them to handle and less than ideal. If the long ball game isn’t working for Vrabel and Tannehill, it is easily guaranteed that the running game will be hammered in this match! With a bruising running-back like Henry in command, you’d be crazy not to start this guy! I would project Henry to have a good production day with a possible 97+ yards game and 2 TD’s likely.

Ryan Tannehill – QB

The Titans offense was the #4 last season and with the addition of Julio Jones over the summer, Tannehill is setup to set new highs for himself this season.

Tannehill isn’t shy to sling the ball down the field and let his WR’s battle it out with the cornerbacks. Speaking of that position, that’s a weakness for Arizona as Julio Jones is a big problem to go up against in that position. Never mind AJ Brown being a part of this deep threat of an offense! Tannehill could be poised to throw for about 2-3TD’s and maybe 1 INT. However, his yardage could be anywhere between 200-300 yards in this matchup.

So who are some players to utilize in the flex position in this Cardinals vs. Titans matchup? I got some ideas for you.

Chase Edmonds – AZ RB.

While there is no question that newly acquired James Conner will loom as a threat in the rushing works for Edmonds, there is something Edmonds can bring value with.

The Titans struggle when defending catches in the backfield and Edmonds was very productive last year in this territory. With Tennessee allowing nearly five catches per game last season to backfields, and how that defense is built this year? Edmonds could be nice value and in PPR leagues a possible 12-15 point producer.

Anthony Firkser – TN TE.

With the Cardinals vs. Titans game ensuring to be a showdown in the WR area, I wouldn’t be surprised if Vrabel decides to jab it in the heart and show no mercy in his teams’ lethality.

Last year, the Titans were fifth overall in targeting this position. Fortunately for Firkser, he won’t be competing as Jonnu Smith was moved to New England. However, the Cardinals were the 7th fewest fantasy points wise in allowing tight-end catches. If you are a risk taker and don’t mind going in the “dark horse” route of things, personally this is a decent value at the Flex position.

I see Firkser potentially having a 30-40 yards type of game, 1TD if either WR struggles to get themselves opened. Also, with 3rd down plays where you need that extra option, Firkser may be a big value there as well.

Cardinals Vs. Titans Final Thoughts?

In all honesty, I think this game may be the toughest matchup of the season for Arizona.

For some reason, I feel Derrick Henry will demolish that defense and that stiff arm is so unforgiving as we know it. Additionally, this Cardinals vs. Titans game gives me huge WR battle vibes but for Arizona the struggle is real. Being so thin-staffed at the cornerback position will be a costly gamble especially against two very talented receivers in Brown and Julio.

Prediction wise, in this Cardinals vs. Titans game I see Henry and Hopkins being the top producers besides the QB’s, fantasy wise for most PPR formats. Henry as I said, I predict for him to have a 97-120+ yards game and 2TD’s, anywhere between 19-30 points.

Meanwhile for Hopkins, I think he will be around nine targets, seven receptions, 80+ Yards and 1TD easily. Potentially a 18-25 point night for him.

Score prediction wise, I am going with a Titans win here: 30-27 score.
