English Premier League Matchday 4 Predictions

After the international break we are back with some English Premier League action. Matchday four is upon us and we have some solid matches to watch. With that being said here are my predictions for matchday four in the English Premier League

6-4 Last Matchday (17-13 Overall)

English Premier League Saturday Slate:

Crystal Palace vs Tottenham

Crystal Palace is winless in their last twelve meetings against Tottenham. Tottenham is 10-2-0 in those twelve matchups against Palace. It appears that Tottenham will be without Son-Heung Min for this matchup due to a calf injury. With no Son, Davinson Sanchez, Lo Celso, and others; Tottenham will be really thin against Palace. Does the winless streak continue for Crystal Palace?

Prediction: Game ends in a 0-0 draw.

Watford vs Wolves

Both sides have won two a piece in their previous four matchups. Watford has won their last ten home games in league play. This game will be close the entire way and I do believe Wolves finally puts a goal in.

Prediction: Game ends in a 1-1 draw.

Brentford vs Brighton

Brentford hasn’t lost a league game since March of last season. I understand that mixing the EFL and the Premier League isn’t the greatest, but nonetheless the stat itself is impressive. Brighton is going to struggle on the road this week. We saw how tough it was to play in Brentford back in matchday one when they hosted Arsenal. This matchup will be more of the same in my opinion.

Prediction: Brentford wins 2-0.

Arsenal vs Norwich City

Arsenal has had the toughest schedule to start off the season. This time frame for Arsenal has worked for them in the past. In their last 26 games at this time slot on Saturday, the Gunnars are 21-5-0 in those games. Norwich has had a tough draw as well this season, but Arsenal needs this game more. If Arsenal doesn’t win this weekend, Arteta will be on the next flight out of Emirates Stadium.

Prediction: Arsenal wins 2-1.

Manchester United vs Newcastle

Manchester United has dominated Newcastle at Old Trafford. In their last 36 meetings where the game was played at Old Trafford, United has only lost one game to Newcastle. We finally might see the second coming of Ronaldo at United, if not this team should still get the job done against Newcastle at home.

Prediction: Manchester United wins 3-1.

Southampton vs West Ham

West Ham has had Southampton’s number as of late. The Hammers are 6-1-0 in their last seven meetings against Southampton. We should see the debut of new West Ham United player Kurt Zouma in this one as well. West Ham has been on fire so far to start off the year and they aren’t cooling down in this matchup.

Prediction: West Ham wins 2-0.

Leicester City vs Manchester City

This is the matchup of the weekend. Leicester City vs Manchester City is the matchup that we will all be watching this weekend. In their last eleven meetings there have been no draws between the two sides. As the record looks in favor of Manchester City who has won seven meetings and Leicester has won four. I think this is going to be a close one from start to finish and whoever scores first wins the game.

Prediction: Manchester City wins 1-0.

Chelsea vs Aston Villa

Chelsea has only lost one of their last 16 home games against Aston Villa. 11-4-1 is Chelsea’s record at home in their last 16 against Aston Villa. Chelsea will be without Kante, Christian Pulisic and Reece James for this matchup. There are also reports that Lukaku might be not playing as well. I think Chelsea is deep enough where their success against Aston Villa continues here.

Prediction: Chelsea wins 3-0.

English Premier League Sunday

Leeds vs Liverpool

Liverpool is going to be without Alisson Becker, Firmino and Fabinho for this matchup. We will probably see Adrian’s first start of the season for Liverpool this year against Leeds United. The first time these two teams played nothing but fireworks came from it. Second time around at Leeds was a different story. Last year at Leeds this game finished in a draw. I think with no Alisson Becker this game trends to the same way it looked last year at Elland Road.

Prediction: Game ends in a 1-1 draw.

English Premier League Monday

Everton vs Burnley

I think this one has the potential to be a sneaky good game on Monday. Don’t get me wrong, Burnley is known for putting on defensive clinics against opposing teams. If the game was at Burnley that is the way I would be leaning, It is at Goodison Park though so it makes me want to trust Rafa Beneitz and Everton. If Richarlison and company play up to their potential this should be a Everton win.

Prediction: Everton wins 2-0.
