NFL Draft 2021 — Sleeper Picks

One of the most exciting days for football fans is literally right around the corner! The 2021 NFL Draft is upon us, and with some serious talent and high expectations, all sorts of things are taking perspective.

For Football fans, you may have seen several mock drafts showing what the first round will look-like. So, I figure to provide a different angle.

Every year, we see either a team take a position on a random pick hoping for high results. Allow me to share with you who I believe will be this years’ NFL sleeper draft picks.

Sleeper Picks!

WR – Rondale Moore, Purdue

Purdue's Rondale Moore doing what colleges should: Opting out of 2020

A big factor that goes into building a 50-man roster successfully isn’t just on round 1. The later rounds lately have always brought some great surprises, teams have got to cash on the sleeper picks starting on round 2 all the way to 7th round.

In this case, Rondale Moore is exactly what offenses should be looking for in terms of receiving and running. Rondale highlight was in 2018 when Stamford and Ohio State met, ending that night with 12 catches, 170 yards and 2 TD’s. Since that night, Moore’s stock only went upwards.

While many will say, Rondale was hampered with injuries and his stock fell after he opted out of the 2020 season, 2021 is a new year and any team that will offer this guy an opportunity will be cashing in big time! Rondale is unstoppable with the ball in his hands and 2021/2022 season will be his to prove that.

TE – Brevin Jordan, Miami (FL).

While many of us wonder where Kyle Pitts will go in the first round of the draft, I am here to remind you there is another high option available too.

For starters, I want to make myself clear, I have NOTHING against Kyle Pitts. In fact, the dude was my favorite TE college-football wise last year. However, it is totally unfair to not bring in the picture Brevin Jordan.

Jordan’s body is built equally to that of the modern day football TE. At 6-foot-3 and 247lbs. Jordan brings a game-changing ability like no other at that position.

Brevin Jordan dealt with injury problems throughout his college football career, making his value depreciate a bit. While Brevin won’t likely be a complete blocking tight end, he makes for a very good option in the slot and in the open field, that is hard to cover for any current NFL defense. In my opinion, Brevin Jordan will be a name to watch for.

More Sleeper Picks!

RB – Israel Tucker, Louisiana Tech.

Not an Overnight Sensation' - How Israel Tucker continues to provide spark to Louisiana Tech's backfield – Crescent City Sports

Last year, Louisiana Tech had quite the strong RB arsenal! Israel Tucker last year took a minor step back to allow his teammate Justin Henderson to shine a little brighter. While this may have potentially lowered his value, do not let that fool you! In fact, allow me to share with you his Louisiana Tech Pro Day numbers which just tell you everything you need to know. Tucker’s Pro Day numbers include a 40 that was as fast a 4.46 seconds, a 38.5 inch vertical jump, oh! and a broad jump that touched 10’3″. MONSTER!

The Bulldog from Louisiana Tech could easily turn out to be a phenomenal product this year. Hell, I think he will be better than his former teammate Boston Scott who is now playing for the Eagles. If I am Bill Belichick going into the 2nd or 3rd round, this is a name I will highly be monitoring. Especially when knowing that teams like the Titans, the Eagles and potentially the Ravens could be keeping an eye out for him.

For the Patriots, Tucker could easily be a seamless replacement for Damian Harris or Sony Michel should either deal with injuries this season.

OT – Samuel Cosmi, Texas.

Texas LT Samuel Cosmi opting out of final two games, will start preparing for NFL Draft

2021 is a weird year for the offensive tackle position overall. We know guys like Penei Sewell, Rashawn Slater, Christian Darrisaw and Alijah Vera-Tucker will all likely go in the first round. However, how are these teams currently just sleeping on Samuel Cosmi? Sleeper pick much!

While many think Cosmi is the product of good coaching in Texas and that he isn’t nearly the instinctual player you would like to see him be, I think honestly that is just absurd.

For some reason expectations these days are just incredibly stupid. Heaven forbid that the guy either is physically gifted and does his own thing or that a player is fundamentally excellent because the sports analysts like that idiot Max Kellerman will find additional stupidity to say on air. Hey Max, how is that Cliff going for Tom Brady sir?

Anyways, Cosmi will the type of player who will easily be sensational in his NFL debut year and only get better from there. Teams like the Broncos, Bengals, Bears, and even the Buccaneers will be fortunate to land Cosmi if they select him. Who knows, maybe he will peak into round 1 quietly?

Bonus Sleeper Pick!

LB – Nick Bolton, Missouri.

2021 NFL Draft prospect profile: Nick Bolton, LB, Missouri - Big Blue View

Here is another pick where football pundits have failed viewers on. Another pick where labels like “too-small”, “not developed” fly!

For the love of football, just look at stats please! Bolton’s that guy coming off a highly productive year having finished at Missouri with 95 tackles in 10 games. If you’re a football coach, how isn’t this guy jumping off the film for you as you watch him quickly study the field, lock the target and make those tackles?

The Missouri product has all sorts of potentials for 2021 in the NFL and one I’m thrilled about. In my opinion, Bolton could easily be the shocker of round 1 this year especially for a team looking to fill the void.

Personally, I would think that a team like the Chargers, Browns and maybe the Dolphins could take Nick on round 1 as their pick. In the meantime, if he doesn’t go in the first round he is a name to keep an eye on.
