Fantasy Basketball: Free Agents To Add Heading Into Week Two
Week one is officially in the books for fantasy basketball and boy was it a wild one. We had a plethora of insane stat lines to start off the season. Free throw attempts are at an all time low with the new rule. Teams that were suppose to dominate have struggled and other teams that were suppose to be bad are solid to start off the season. Now with that being said here are some names that you should add via free agency heading into week number two.
Steven Adams
People forgot how much of a double double machine Steven Adams could be still. Adams is an absolute machine on the glass for Memphis so far. We have seen the 28 year old center shine so far in his short tenure with Memphis. He is currently fitting right into the Jonas Valanciunas role for them which was a double double center that dominates the glass. Adams is currently ranked in the top twenty in centers in fantasy basketball at the moment. Adams is a must add, if he is available and you need another center he is a name that you should for sure add.
Mo Bamba
Mo Bamba has surprised a lot of fantasy owners in week one. Bamba is finally looking like he is going to have his breakout season for the Magic. There were some question marks about what the Magic starting five was going to look like. Right now they have Bamba playing the five and he has been fantastic for them. Bamba has put up two straight double doubles and has scored in double figures in every game this year. He was added in 46.7 percent of leagues on ESPN this past week alone and he is now rostered in 56.3 percent of leagues as well. If he is available in your league go add him because he is going to keep up these numbers as long as he is starting for Orlando.
Will Barton
Will Barton has been a key part of the Denver Nuggets offense so far to start off the season. Fantasy owners didn’t know what to expect from Will Barton this year, but he is a solid option to add for the remainder of the season. Barton is averaging 43.5 fantasy points per game at the moment and is ranked seventeenth in fantasy for small forwards. Now being rostered in 31.7 percent of leagues after a big boost from this past week as he was added in 29.2 percent of leagues as well. We should start talking about Will Barton as a reliable fantasy piece for the remainder of the year. Add Barton right this second because he is going to keep producing with Jamal Murray out.
Chris Duarte
Chris Duarte has been the most surprising rookie so far to start off the season. He has worked his way into the starting five and is producing while doing it as well. Durate is currently ranked number six in fantasy basketball for the shooting guard position. Indiana needs someone that can give them fifteen plus points per night at the guard position and Duarte is filling that void with flying colors right now. He was the second most added played in fantasy basketball this week. The rookie has done more than what people thought he would in his first three games with the Pacers, let alone his first three starts. Duarte has played well above his season expectations so far, but he is going to keep these numbers up with the opportunity being there for him.
