Europa League: Quarterfinals Leg 1!
Did you catch the first leg of the Champions League? Competitive and dramatic right? Well, now that the Champions League has wrapped up leg 1 it now turns towards the Europa League.
In this years quarterfinals, the stage is set and we are ready for what looks to be a massive roller-coaster ride of emotions and drama. Lets get to the predictions right away!
Must Watch Clashes!
Manchester United vs. Granada
Tomorrow will be quite the collision course for these two teams. In one corner, you have a Manchester United team fighting for silverware and the return to its glory days. Currently sitting in 2nd place in the EPL, Manchester will need to as creative but driven as possible coming against a stingy Granada team with the likes of Roberto Soldado looking to face United again. I am predicting a 2-1 victory for United but could bring some potential shockers if the English team doesn’t lineup strategically.
Ajax vs. Roma AS
Another massive clash and this time between two strong titans. Ajax has been strong and continuing to show as to why they are one of the strongest attacks in Europe. The Dutch machine has the likes of Nicholas Tagliafico who continues to show growth in a team that has allowed him to shine through and throughout. Meanwhile the Italian giants, Roma come into this match knowing well what they are up against. Given the history between these two, I believe Ajax will come out victorious at a 2-1 score as well.
The Action Continues!
Arsenal vs. Slavia Praha
I look at this match and immediately go towards “Let the bodies hit the floor”. Arsenal have a good history when facing Slavia Praha as their one and only previous match, Arsenal owned Praha with a 7-0 score. I expect a very physical game but Arsenal has the talents to be able to dominate this game. My prediction, Arsenal 3-0.
Dinamo Zagreb vs. Villareal
Another match that can bring a lot of high emotions and chirpiness right from the get go. Dinamo Zagreb are riding high but still as the underdogs after having eliminated English side, Tottenham FC.
For Dinamo, the story continues to be an exciting one as their young Croatian goalie continues to make a great name for himself. Dinamo will need to do whatever it takes and whatever necessary to ensure they do their best to control Moreno and Bacca’s offensive game for Villareal.
Meanwhile Villareal, you have a serious opportunity here to finishing your story with Unai Emery at the helm of things. Unai was quickly let go from Arsenal but has made things right at Villareal, who knows! Maybe if Villareal makes it thru, it could be Villareal vs. Arsenal? Unai vs. Mikel? Either way, as enticing as this sounds, my prediction is a 2-0 victory for Villareal as concerns for Dinamo continue to grow.
