Cowboys vs Falcons Fantasy Football Preview

Week 10 of fantasy football is among us! Welcome to over halfway done with the season. On Thursday there was an anticlimactic game against Dolphins and Ravens. But surprise the Dolphins came away victorious. But this article is not about that. It is about fantasy football, specifically the Cowboys vs Falcons fantasy football preview.

Must Start

Dak Prescott QB Cowboys

Dak Prescott's unwavering, late-game confidence reminds of the QB who left New England

Dak had an okay fantasy week last week which might make people weary of starting him. But lets be honest week 9 fantasy wise brought a lot of off weeks for QB’s. This week do not expect that. In case you are someone who has Dak and are on the fence of starting him here are a couple statistics that may tell you to START HIM! 1) The Cowboys have not lost at home in consecutive weeks since 2017. 2) The Cowboys hold the 2nd most PPG at home this season with 34.4 (even after last weeks lost to Denver they still are a high scoring offense. 3) Dak Prescott has a 112.3 passer rating when not under pressure, guess who sucks at pressuring the QB? Falcons do with a 21.4 percent QB pressure rate, which is lowest in the NFL. Needless to say the stats point in the favor of the Cowboys and Dak Prescott having a game.

Must Start

Cordarrelle Patterson RB Falcons

Falcons player of the week: RB Cordarrelle Patterson - The Falcoholic

This week we are doing something different. Because I have no reason not to start or be weary of Patterson I can not list him as a other to consider. So with that said Patterson is a must start. The Cowboys running defense (which is ranked at 11th) is in for a test against Patterson. Who keeps proving as to why he is an RB 1. Expect him to be able to make plays in both the receiving and rushing aspects. With Ridley still out he has taken the form of not only RB but a WR. Against the Saints, Patterson had 6 catches for 126 yards as well as 9 rushing attempts but only for 10 yards. Either way Patterson is going to be effective. This is the player the Cowboys will need to watch for.

Avoid

Kyle Pitts TE Falcons

The Kyle Pitts Hype Should Be Tempered - The 33rd Team

I was one of those people that was super hyped for Kyle Pitts to enter the league. I thought he was going to be the rookie of the year and a breakout TE. He has had some good games but he has also had some not so good games. If you’re looking for a TE this week I personally would not play Pitts. As I mentioned above Patterson is going to be the guy this week running and receiving. But another reason I would not play him is his track record against the NFC East. Against Football Team he had 9 targets but only caught 4 of those for 50 yards, he had an even worse performance against Giants with 2 catches for 35 yards. The Cowboys in the NFC East have the best defense. TE wise though they only rank 20th. Personally though I think Pitts is not productive, maybe if you are a PPR league he gets a decent showing but if you are not look for other options.

Cowboys vs Falcons Final Thoughts

The Falcons are getting hot right now they have won 3 of their 4 last games, but they still only pose a 4-4 record, The Cowboys were on a hot streak but were given their 1st loss since week 2 last week at a 6-2 record. Many think this should be a cakewalk for the Cowboys but I would not count the Falcons out. I remember last seasons matchup with the final score being 39-40 Cowboys win, my jaw literally dropped when the Cowboys completed their comeback in the final seconds.

Cowboys vs Falcons Fantasy Final Thoughts

As for fantasy value this game has a ton of fantasy potential. Both teams are pretty high scoring. On the road the Falcons are averaging 24.8 PPG and as I stated earlier Cowboys have a 34.4 PPG at home. So for that reason I think this one will be a slingout. If you are considering Matt Ryan this week to play or pick up you should, both RB’s Elliott and Patterson will have great games. WR’s be cautious with the Falcons WR’s besides Gage who could be a nice Flex option this week.

As for WR’s on Cowboys both Lamb and Cooper are healthy so I would play either. Although Turner was the WR last week do not pick him up as he will not be valuable this week. As for defenses I feel like this game will be high scoring so I may not play either, but if I was considering one I am taking the Cowboys due to them being at home and fired up after a lose. This Cowboys vs Falcons matchup will be a good one!
